Don’t know how/where/set anything to do with the clock speed on the Q4000 card.
I’l try running that memtest overnight.
I can even try moving current project data files to internal drive and see what happens.

I’ve used Digital Juice stuff for years. I think almost all the files I bring in are a MOV file. I use After Effects for any of their templates and those and rendered out to MOV files. Rampant file are also all MOV files. If I’m having less crashing issues when editing without these “effects”, it seems that maybe the way I have my Vegas setup and/or the way my PC is setup, MOV files are affecting something.

Yeah, I guess they really are just videos. But whenever they get into Vegas, Vegas doesn’t like them and will start to crash. I’ve had no problem with other video overlays from Digital Juice. There just seems to be something Vegas doesn’t like. At least on my system. When I edit with these I have to save after every single step I make as I edit because I know it will crash within a few minutes. Today alone I’ve sent Sony 8 crash reports all within one hour.
I know Vegas doesn’t like something on my so-called high-end PC due to the daily crashes on all projects. I will swap out my Q4000 card for a lower GeForce card and see if that’s the issue. Someone said it might be a memory issue. I’ve got 32GB of memory. I do still have about 60 things running in the background that I have no idea what they are or need to be running. These are all at startup. Too bad nobody can just go on my system and look around and see what the problem might be.
Sony’s only suggestion is to uninstall, create a new user account. Install on the new account and not install any 3rd party plug-ins. So if that works I start loading in my NewBlue stuff. I require a lot of 3rd party stuff to produce my projects.

Windows auto update is off. Never trust Windows anyway. I have gone into my “Start ups” and turned off several that I feel don’t need to be running. And I’ve deleted one program so far. I’ll see if this has any affect. If not, I’ll look deeper into other background stuff and other programs that might be bugging Vegas.

Crashes happen 3 ways: 1- everything stops and the “Vegas has encountered a problem and is shutting down” pop-up appears. I can at least get data from this crash. 2- a smaller pop-up appears with 3 choices, again stating Vegas has encountered a problem. My only real option is to “close” Vegas. No data is provided. 3- the entire Vegas interface just vanishes from the screen. No warning. No message. Just “poof” and it’s gone. (Not even a “poof”).
I would get the “Not Responding” but that hasn’t been happening here.
