1080 60p (50P for Europe) mts footage is often not be recognised by Mac, you should make the AVCHD file editable by converting.

I think you can try a MPEG Converter. I try one now, it does well in converting MTS/MKV to AVI,WMV,MOV,MP4,MPEG. And it’s offering “Buy One Get One Free” Back to School Deals
