Is there maybe a missing driver or something I could have missed?

Leopard 10.5.8
Both my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro are running this version of Leopard and the same problem is happening on both…

Unfortunately iMovie is not compatible with XDCAM only .DV files and I cannot export the clip out of XD Clip Browser in any format. When I drag and drop it’s just an XML reference file…

By copying to the desktop do you mean changing the import destination to the desktop in XDCAM Transfer?
If so, I tried that and it doesn’t work. I can’t get this clip to export off of this card…
-
No it didn’t span over. The card isn’t even full and this is a clip that was shot in the middle of all the others. It’s so weird.
Some more things I have found out that may clue someone in to what is happening:
– Using XDCAM Clip Broswer I am able to back up every single shot on the SDHC card except this one
– Using XDCAM Transfer I am able to import every single other clip except this one into FCP
– Log and Transfer does not work either in FCPSomeone else suggested using Claibrated SOftware and opening the clip in QT then exporting into something usable in FCP. Does anyone think that may work or have experience doing anything like that?

OK I just tried it again and got this error message:
“***-[NSConcreteFileHandle readDataOfLength:]: Device not configured”
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
Somebody please help!!!!

Craig, how do you like that Calibrated EX MP4 Software? I just looked at the site and it seems pretty interesting. Do you find it is worth it? What are your main benefits to using it?
-
Yeah I ALWAYS dump the cards onto a separate drive first before sourcing the clips into FCP. Just so I always have those BPAV backups. I didn’t realize I hit that card select button though so I wasn’t even looking on the other card for the other half of the clip (which probably should have been my first point of trouble shooting haha).
Thanks Craig!

Yep. That was the problem. It’s weird though as to why it would have switched to the other card. It’s a 16GB SDHC and only had about 15min of 720P30 footage on it – not even close to full, and this clip was in the middle of everything I shot. It did span to 2 cards somehow (maybe I accidentally hit the card select button?) but this solved it.
Thanks!

Thanks Andy! I did not have that checked under Import in the Preferences menu. Very simple now. I get it!
