  • Might be that it is looking for the variable “i” which is undefined when the length of the text is less than one row. Try adding i=0; right before the while loop and see if that fixes it.
Or are you in CC2019? The javascript engine was updated in the latest version, so this may not work there.

With Twixtor you handle cuts by marking the cut points. See the last post in this thread for details: https://forums.creativecow.net/docs/forums/post.php?forumid=69&postid=776050&univpostid=776050&pview=t&archive=T

If nothing else works, you can always split it into two layers horizontally at the mouth level (with some overlap between the two layers) and link a couple of puppet pins in the same locations on the two layers to fix the cheeks together.

I think you can do this in Premiere as easily. I would make a freeze frame of the footage for the logo rather than trying to replace it. You can use the corner pin to straighten it out so it is perfectly horizontal and vertical.

The two main things I see as missing in the black layer with the iris shape are:

    1) Easing. An ease in to the send keyframe would make this nicer.
    2) Motion blur. This can be done as radial blur or with the transform technique: https://premierepro.net/motion-blur/

If replacing the logo is critical, you’d have to align them perfectly and fade between the two. To make it more seamless, I would keyframe the color of the original footage to change during the iris zoom-in to match the color of the final logo, then it would not be an abrupt change to fade over to the final logo.

What exactly have you tried already? 3D camera tracking? 2D tracking? Planar tracking with Mocha?

Any of them should work if your footage is anything like the example.

If the only problem with Mocha is that it stretches the text, can you not unstretch it by adding space around the text?

Would need to see what you are seeing or know what you have tried and with which results to be able to give any real guidance.

  • Ah, ok. I wonder if it is because you have an effect named “freq” as well as a variable named “freq”.

  • Do you have this set up so that the path points are controlled by the nulls? Do you just need the expression for the trim paths end to move one null forward with ease and a little stop in between with one-second intervals?

If that is the objective, it would be better achieved by moving a track matte layer above the graph line and reveal the graph that way. That would then be an expression which moves the matte layer from left to right by the horizontal distance between the graph points once per second with an ease . This way you don’t need to worry about the varying path lengths between the points, which would be an issue you’d have to deal with with trim paths.

Or possibly I’m still not getting an accurate picture of what the expected end result is.

  • In this case, it should get the numeric value of the slider instead of the slider as an object. I don’t know if that’s the problem here, but it could be.

  • A screen grab of your setup and current expressions would help. In the first paragraph you’re describing a single bar graph, in the second you’re describing a line graph with many points, so it is hard to tell what the actual aim is.
