If they are both 3D, you should actually have the bubble outline ever so slightly closer to the camera than the image. If they are at the exact same distance, AE doesn’t know which one is supposed to be in front. 3D layers stacking position depends on their distance from camera, not on the layer order.

Screenshots of comp layers, keyframes and effect settings would narrow down possible causes considerably.

Do you have effects applied to the layer? Some effects do not support motion blur, in which case you can use CC Force Motion Blur.

To me your plan with reverse explosion with custom animation for some particles sounds reasonable. You can use physics time factor to reverse the action in Particular.

I put most green screen footage through denoiser with temporal filtering before feeding it to keylight. Gives a much cleaner result on those problem areas like hair and motion-blurred parts.

On a quick glance, reversing the last values to something like
linear(x, 0, 100, 100, 0)should do it.

The gap at the top is the combination of the gaps at the sides in your precomp. Depending on whether you want to increase the gap of decrease it, you can either reside your precomp wider or narrower. Or scale the three shapes together.

How about using the powers of ten? So slider would be clamped between 0 and 5 and the expression would make it 10^0, 10^1, 10^2, etc? That is:

Okay, reading that again, I get that you mean you want to draw the entire shape with a single stroke, using the dotted line options.
That being the case, instead of using the dotted line options, you should make a custom brush that has the separate pieces and apply the brush to that single stroke.
