Hi,
I’m having the same issues as discussed in this thread. I’m working with HD files (for the first time). Everything is going along fine and suddenly the next time I try to render I get the Render Error: Insufficient Disk Space message. NOTE: my files have been compressed as discussed with Zoe earlier on is this thread.

I’ve freed up space by using the render manager (also deleting files manually), trashed the preferences, etc. Generally these actions work and I can continue working.

Today, however, I keep getting the message, despite taking all the usual steps. I even tried copying it to a new project and shutting down the computer and restarting. Nothing is working at the moment.

My internal hard drive is 1TB, of which the available space is 742 GB.

Any ideas what’s going on?

Thanks. I am going to cut him a little slack because he’s running the camera is not his main profession. He offered to help me because my shoot required a certified scuba diver and that he was. Also, I’m a young inexperienced director so now I know what to tell him next time 🙂

There’s 1 motion project in there in the very beginning of the film (like scene 4). When I open the project it blows past that.

The other thing I’m doing is applying a cartoon filter using the subtle setting on the still photos in the timeline.

The film is an animation that was created in DAZ Studio. In DAZ Studio I export .mov files which are brought into FCP.

OK. I found all the files in the timeline and the browser that should have been deleted. Now it’s telling me that there are 307 render files that are offline. I’m sure that’s because I deleted a back-up copy that was on the internal hard drive. How do I get rid of that?

Thanks. Would it have anything to do with files that have gone offline? I have one file for sure that was deleted. It keeps showing up in the list of files that have gone offline. I don’t know how to get it off the list. It’s not showing up in my browser.

Does you sequence contain footage of varying resolutions and frame-rates?

There’s not a lot of video footage in the sequence. I’m working on an animation that was created in DAZ studio. Those clips are rendered to a .mov file and then brought into FCP.

However, I am using various photos, which have different sizes and resolutions. I’m applying a cartoon filter to most of the photos.

Is your captured footage dv? I have some captured footage that was shot on mini-DV.

What particular effects and filters did you apply? Mostly the cartoon filter but I also use a zoom filter, ripple dissolve, cross-fade.

Can you tell from export progress what part of your sequence went awry. I think it’s the first half of the film. It seems to quit when it gets to about 30%.

Did you try partial export in order to localize the problem spot? I’ve tried doing the first half and then the second half. Both seem to take a really long time. If I try to force a quit, it tells me FCP is not responding.

Hi.
The file is a sequence in FCP. I’m trying to make it to a self-contained movie.
When I set the preferences it automatically sets it to DV_NTSC.

The it turns out it was the mouse. It didn’t work when I plugged it into the laptop. I reset the iMac again and plugged in a new mouse and now it works.
