Does anyone know a reason this might be occurring?

I don’t have a 4k option right now. It doesn’t seem right that back lets say 5 or 6 years ago they were producing 4k as well.

  • I’ve been using VMIX lately with a blackmagic quad card in the computer. I’ve been doing a live streaming show with several cameras, audio, commercials, graphics and etc. and I can do this by myself. The app has a web interface which allows you to have macros set and utilize an ipad or tablet to fire off your commands. For example I have a command to goto commercial, one for dissolve back into camera, and stuff like that.

The support isn’t great but the manual does help figure things out. For the money its not too bad. Plus it has the NDI interface so many are going with these days.

Word of warning on the titler though, I don’t like it and it needs help. Most of the time I just create what I need in photoshop and run titles that way.

In broadcasting terms we would insert closed captioning into the video stream such as like 21 for the old analog days. 608 and 708 has it in another spot but its still the same philosophy. For the news broadcast we were using a script through Autoscript Xbox Ultra. It was also interfacing with an evertz closed captioning insertion device which would take the HD-SDI signal from the switcher and embed captioning then send the video through the plant.

Never in my 11 years in the broadcasting industry have I ever seen a 45 second commercial.

  • Any other ideas on how to fix this issue?

  • Removing power did not make the situation better or worse, like I had imagined.

  • Its the fact that the window lighting is so bad, and I knew this when I set up the shot. The blinds on the window don’t work and I didn’t know till it was time to film and by then it was too late. I got it in the ballpark, used lumetri color in after effects and masked everything in the area. Key framed most of it, now to do the rest in the morning. Oh and its due by 2pm central time.

  • I actually don’t own enough lighting to do this properly. I managed to keyframe a mask, but that always looks horrible. The color correction made everything grainy, I guess I have to live with this.
