Hi Dave,
As I received the files from a 3rd party, I went ahead and did just that.
I exported the files out of Motion and they were just fine. I was really curious to
find out if there were others with similar problems.Oh well, the economy hasn’t crashed yet and FCSP is still working, so all is well.
Right…?Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your input Bram. You have an interesting and admirable business strategy. Economics and business aside, I remain pondering my options. Wish you all the best. Jb

Thanks for the comment Shane.
Bram, objectivity is where I’m aiming, at least
what comes to quality and control. Your option
is tempting, yet – as you might’ve heard before –
not as feasible due to customs and taxes. When are you planning on finding a rep here in
EU? If you want to start small, I’m your
best bet – I’m a one man company 😉Will give your product a thought, never-the-less.

Shane,
Just read an interesting way-back-in-2008 HD monitor discussion where you and bunch of others talked about TVLogic being a good candidate for a HD monitor (cc critical, broadcast quality). Just landed on this FSI monitor thread, and was wondering your take on FSI vs TVLogic. I reside in Finland and FSI monitors are a bit hard to find here. TVLogic would be more available. Which one would you recommend? Any suggestion on TVLogic models?

Thank you all for great suggestions.
Walter, I do carry a Kona LHe in my system.
I guess you’re thinking realtime
conversion in relation to printing to tape? This time the delivery will be in filemode.
Or is there perhaps something here I’m
not quite-a-grasping? If so, do indulge
me.JBuckbee – Finland – PAL

Thanks guys. The material I’m tackling is h264 1280×576 sq 50p from a dslr.
The finished product should be DV PAL 25(i). I’ll get there, eventually…JBuckbee – Finland – PAL

Good morning Jeremy,
It is my understanding that Color doesn’t handle
HDV material. My problem (still is) that I edit with
original material (HDV), I then use Media Manager
to convert my timeline/project to ProRes so I can
send it to Color for a tune-up.In the process I get banding and what-not, which
suggests that quicktime doesn’t handle the conversion
process that well.My question remains for all… Correct settings for
downconversion, please. AnybodyJBuckbee – Finland – PAL

Hi Jeremy,
From what I’ve read from this forum, Color isn’t quite
up for the job. Unless you have some new information,
which would be quite nice.jb

Hi there Bob,
Thanks for you reply. THat’s how I had it set up whilst I was renting a chair from a local post facility here in Finland. Not with AJA D4E, but something like it. And yes, that’s probably what I’ll have to do in this case. I just moved my gear home – I live in the country, ca. 25 mls from the capitol Helsinki – and am starting to put things together here.
Nightwish is very popular here, and as you probably know, they’re from Finlandos. So anytime you want to come over and see them play locally, let me know and we’ll do the town.
We also have a local act – The Rasmus – that just put out a new album… Desmond Child produced it, if that means anything to you. High hopes for them, too.
Cheers…jb.
