January 14, 2011 at 1:56 pmDo you want to slow down the footage or just the original footage in 50p? Because If you want to change the speed of the clip. You can change the 50p to 25p in Cinema Tools.

January 14, 2011 at 3:18 pmThanks guys. The material I’m tackling is h264 1280×576 sq 50p from a dslr.
The finished product should be DV PAL 25(i). I’ll get there, eventually…JBuckbee – Finland – PAL

January 14, 2011 at 3:22 pmFirst of all than I think you have to convert the h.264 to ProRes to edit it. Don’t try to edit the H.264 file.

January 14, 2011 at 6:32 pmUse MPGStreamclip to convert to Prores.
You may try to convert the time-base (p50/i25 at the same time)

January 16, 2011 at 2:15 amIf you have access to an AJA Kona board, it’ll do the conversion in realtime and do it much cleaner than simply trying to let FCP do the conversion. If you just drop the 50p material into a 25i timeline in FCP, the software does not do an elegant job of making the conversion.
As others have suggested, you need to first convert the H.264 to ProRes. We use Compressor most of the time for this and sometimes Episode Pro.

Walter, I do carry a Kona LHe in my system.
I guess you’re thinking realtime
conversion in relation to printing to tape? This time the delivery will be in filemode.
Or is there perhaps something here I’m
not quite-a-grasping? If so, do indulge
