You are right, it’s only accurate plus minus 12 frames, but since it is the beginning of the video it might work as well. Otherwise you might have to try to reconvert the ac3. I don’t see any other solution.
The chapter marker can be erased (just select and delete) as you don’t need most likely a marker at the head of the video. If you have more chapter markers these have to be reset.

    Hi Greg,
why don’t you trim them both on the DVDSP timeline?

You might consider buying a FireStore harddisk and record m2t files directly on the disc. That saves the whole deck and tape issue. We just did a 2 hour documentary without problems,

I think that if you the break point from one to another layer wrong, the message “layer 1 should be smaller than layer 0” or similar would show up (as it did several with my project this week).
Do you export first an img. file to your harddisk burning the DVD with disk utility?

September 17, 2009 at 9:03 pm in reply to: encoding for DVDSP

Thanks Michael, it´s not a typical interlace flicker. Also source is progressive, encoding as well. I did encode a whole file (title) again and the problem appeared randomly in other sections of the encoded file,

April 26, 2007 at 11:11 pm in reply to: Why SONY FX1 could be better than JVC GY-HD201E

If you have to repair your camera be prepared to wait 6-8 weeks. The service of JVC regarding 200/250 is a whole nightmare. It seems that every screw has to be imported from Asia BY SHIP. Absolutely not pro service.

March 12, 2007 at 11:34 pm in reply to: No QT support for JVC GY-HD 200/250 using FS-4 HD Pro

    Official answer from Focusinfo:
“Actually the problem is listed for our Firestore DR-HD100 and was fixed with the 2.2 firmware version for the DR-HD100. Right now there is no current fix for the FS-4 Pro HD units using JVC GY-HD 200/250.”

I have tried everything and worked with Focus support for 2 weeks. Focus development has to come up with a new fix to use Quicktime 720/30 with any FS-4 HD Pro. The Firestore creates the QT icon but shuts off inmediately.

Focusinfo doesn`t offer in ther webpage 720p24, 720p25 support. It says: “With the FS-4Pro HD v2.0 firmware update, you can record 1080i-50/60 and 720p/30 clips in the native QT HDV file format.”

  • Did you select “capture video” in clip settings? It happened to me when installing 5.1.4. Sometimes when opened for the first time only “capture audio” is selected.
