and if you want them to stick together and let go again you can do this with the Gaussian Blur and the Levels effect.Apply them to the adjustment layer>
Blur amount = +/- 20
Levels = Move all 3 triangles of the Alpha Channel to the middle

In order to get the length of the text i tried this expression.

L=text.sourceText.length
L-effect(“Type_on”)(1)

But it doesn’t work.Now the text just fades from right to left.Is it that what you mean Mylenium?
