Anyone ever seen a tutorial that might help me figure out how to simulate a lava lamp effect?

    Or have any suggestions?

Obviously the challenge is to create a amorphic blob that floats within a defined space….

    Is FOAM my best option?

    Any ideas are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rolyn

    Hi,

In case you have Invigorator, here is a project for you:

    Looks like this:

If you don’t have Invigorator, still you should check the texture map to get an idea on how you could create the bubbles and distort them.

    Salut and have fun!

    Hi

and if you want them to stick together and let go again you can do this with the Gaussian Blur and the Levels effect.Apply them to the adjustment layer>
    Blur amount = +/- 20
Levels = Move all 3 triangles of the Alpha Channel to the middle

    it looks like this https://img518.imageshack.us/img518/2807/lavatexturemap0000713qx0.jpg

Mr Mercury and Blobilize are good starts, too.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
