Check all the clips and make sure that there is no audio effects on. Then make new multiclip project or remove the rendered files so the final cut has to calculate all the changes again.

But it depens how far you have done your porject…

I dont know will it helpo for you but it helpt for me. Before you do any changes you should duplicate your project if something goes wrong.

    Hey,
yeah first i tryed to do new project and it didnt help. So that´s way i started to check the setups and options.

i had two clips and one of them had audio audio effect on. So i removed all the effects. For now i dont remember did i remove the render files so the final cut must calculate all the changes again or did i make a new project.

    Okey
found the problem. If Final cut automatically fixes one of your camera audio (loudness, background Noise, Hum removal) then you have a problem and you get the “glitch” to your sound when you cut…it weird problem because the audio should be absolute even if you remove some frequencies….

    Thanks Bruce.
There was lot of good information.
There is still one big question. Why Imovie and Vegas can handle
    the same clips without problems?

    You also
could try to ingest straight from the camera. Works for me.

    Hey Ken!
    I have MacPro 2 x 2,4 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon and 6Gt 1066mhz DDR3 and i had
    the same problem.

First i read that my hard rive speed ain´t fast enough. So i bought
3x Western digital Green (2t each)S.M.A.R.T hardrives. Sata drives speed at 5400-7200rmp
I format my hardrives to Mac OS extended (case-sensitive & journaled) and but them to one raid as mirror…….well the result was same…still freezes

Then i bought 3x Samsung spinpoint hardrives Speed 7200rpm and no eco green smart drive. The i format my new drives to Mac OS Extended and but them to raid 0..

And now it works like charm.. so in the end it´s all about disk speed and the only way to rise it! is to use high speed hard drives and good raid setup… if you use raid0 remember to make backups

Soon i will buy Final cut pro X and hope that it can use more raw machine power with multi clips

To my problem i got help here from creative cow forum so i hope this helps you also

Thank you very much for your tips. Maybe i try to cope with my Samsung for now. I read somewhere that you could use “blue gel” to andjust the monitor if you don´t have the blue only button but someone says that it does not work. “The accuracy of the blue gel trick is worse than setting the knobs to their middle position.”
So what methods do you use to calibrate your monitors? would be nice to know. I thougt that in year 2000 it would be simple with one software but no =)

  • Sorry, found the problem. Someone had changed the (Field dominance) Lower. I brings up another problem that VLC does not show the field error problem and Final cut pro can not playback the MXF-files…so what program you would recomend to monitor the MXF-files?

    Hey Steve,
you were right about the hardrive. I ended the “raid” and took the mirror of. Then i formated the hardrive to HSF+ Mac OS extended (Journaled) and then copyed the material there. Now it works fine and i have no problems.
Harddrive datarate with “3” 442 pro res streams (70gb per clip) was 78mt/sec (624mb/sec).

    thnx.
