Documentation can be found in chapter 12 for the format menu & in chapter 9 under dynamics for keyframing.

You can opt to add the lut to the sdi signal. But it has to be a single link signal. No 4:4:4 with lut applied.

Yep tested. The 680s do not excell at computational tasks (CUDA) it has something to do with the the lack of a hardware task controller. Seems nvidia wanted to differentiate the quadro line.

May 8, 2012 at 12:21 am in reply to: Media Composer 6 + DeckLink HD Extreme 3D (Mac OSX 10.7.3)I’ve never seen this before. Can you try it with 422 monitoring instead of 444?

Not possible to add grain in a LUT. As that would be a temporal change. Also right now tricky to add grain at all in davinci. I go out to AE for grain.

Don’t think so. Old teranex couldn’t either. Generally that sort functionality is reserved for QC & monitoring solutions. I don’t think there is a single product in the BMD line up that can decode captions.

May 7, 2012 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Media Composer 6 + DeckLink HD Extreme 3D (Mac OSX 10.7.3)Is there any chance you have a lut on your monitor feed from davinci? Are they both feeding into the same input? If not are the monitors settings different?

May 7, 2012 at 5:42 am in reply to: Blackmagic Cinema Camera – edit workflow using 12 bit RAW CinemaDNGOnly problem with that workflow is 1 that it’s an extra step with no benefit other than a bit of space savings and the downside of then having to buy a license for CF, and 2 you’d have potential issues with metadata.
Hard drives space is cheap, processing time and cineform licenses cost money.
I suppose if you wanted to archive all of your raw material long term… or already had a workflow based around CF this would probably work.
I think the workflow that will prevail will be the simplest one.
– Open DNG in Resolve & render to prores with standard 709 LUT
– edit in NLE of choice
– send project back to resolve to conform from DNG… or just finish in NLE if color is not an issue.
– ?
– profitI’m sure BMD will have a detailed PDF with the recommended workflow around the release of the camera. Everything until then is speculation, but fun any way. 😉

I don’t think a low end card is going to give you any idea of what davinci is like in the criteria you’re considering. If you want a stable, well performing, capable system I would look carefully to the config guide. If you want to test drive a system with an eye towards how well it would work for you, I think it would behoove you to hire a proper resolve room for a day to test drive it. Preferably with someone there who is willing (and paid ) to show you how it works.
Performance on a non optimized system is not indicative of what resolve is actually like,
