October 12, 2012 at 3:17 am in reply to: Strategies for onlining project with Split Screen? You could do the split screens in a more appropriate app, burn in the repos and then use power windows to grade seperatly, you could even export a matte for the windows since you’ll know where they’ll be. Use RGB mattes to get multiple mattes within a single video matte file and save yourself some wrangling,

Resolve does not support single frame stills, just image sequences. You could export that still as a QuickTime movie and bring that in to resolve without issue,

Peter, out of curiosity, would it be possible to have resolve switch dynamically between two different debayer styles. As in, say full res premium when parked on a frame, and then shift dynamically to quater res for rt playback?

/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT/
And are accessible by right-clicking on a node and applying the LUT of your choice.

One issue might be the prores legal to full scaling limiting the input values from the source. I generally find rolling my own delog curves to be much more advantageous anyway.

What Rohit said! 😉
Basically you need to scale the picture, then add a power window to it, and use the key from that window to feed into an output alpha, that will reveal the underlying image.

Is your sequence coming from PrP by any chance? Have you used Adobe Media Encoder to modify the clips?
Sounds like somethnging may be off in your 23.98 clips, if you’re using the round trip workflow render as I assume you are.

Snell is not just adequate its motion compensated frame rate conversion is miles ahead of none MCd convesions. From the looks of this knowledge base article autodesk doesn’t do anything of the sort.

I’m surprised it passed qc where teranex failed, but it doesn’t sound from that article like smoke would do any better at converting frame rate than say an avid symphony, which IMO is not a very good choice.
If you look at autodesk’s own recommendations in the KB they recommend doing the standards conversion on a HW converter.
