I understand Resolve does not handle freeze frame.

    How about still frames?
I have an FCP timeline with some still frames. Some scaling and motion applied to them. I tried JPEG and PNG files with no success. I look into the DaVinci supported codec list and it says TIFF for decode. I tried it in my timeline with no success. Each time I export an XML file to resolve and all the still frames show as black clips!

So if Resolve does not read any still frame formats in the timeline, what is the best workflow to conform?

    Thanks,

Resolve does not support single frame stills, just image sequences. You could export that still as a QuickTime movie and bring that in to resolve without issue,

    Thanks Juan.

That’s what I ended up doing, conforming the stills sequence to a Quicktime movie, which added an extra step.
It would be nice if Resolve could work with JPEG, PNG, TIFF stills directly into a sequence.
