U can just link AMA… start your cut. Then at end of day (or durring lunch) leave it to consolidate. The Avid can even email you when it’s done.

Bring it in to Avid. Consolidate it to MXF.
Additional twist is that there are different flavors of mxf.
Sony’s MXF is different than Avids MXF.

We get HDCAM-SR recored 1080p60 all the time. Lots of people are mastering 1080p60 for future proofing. Then converting to 1080i or 1080p24 for deliverables.
DCi spec will soon support higher fps… including 48 and 60.
Lots of new AVCHD cameras are doing 1080p60… including the new JVC 4k camcorder.
Sony F3, FS100 and FS700 all do 1080p60.

Build the timelapse once in highres media. In something that supports it natively. Say After Effects. Make it run the longest you could possibly want it (that way you can speed it up further if desired). Then burn in the timelapse (i.e. render it out into a master quality codec). Import that into Avid and use however you’d like as your new master source. Much easier to deal witha 20 minutes long speed up clip than 20 hours of raw footage.

Not at all actually the 680s are a whole new architecture (Kepler instead of Fermi) it makes perfect sense that they don’t work. I was just hoping that NVidia would have been forward looking when they released their new drivers.

No, this was using the new NVidia drivers… which natively support the card.

When I say kicks in, I mean when I put on enough nodes or turn on the NR. Do a search on the forum for 590 and you’ll see me previous posts on this.

From what I’ve seen… No. Like I said before, right now the best card is the 580.

There are apparently some inherent differences in the kepler architecture that may never make the 680 as CUDA capable as the 580… specifically they switched from a hardware task controller to a software task controller. When you’ve got tens of thousands of CUDA tasks, that takes a performance toll.

FSi does service and support in the EU market. They are probably the best value in your range.
I have and really like the Sony PVM-2541. But it’s limited viewing angle really just makes it good for an operator. Not a client monitor.

Generally higher bitrate = better quality. Main concept is a good encoder.

Yes, I will try 680 in windows…but have not yet. Also have tested 590 in MacPro. Drivers work but built in power supply, can’t support both gpus working. Kernel panic when the second gpu kicks in. 590 are not officially supported in resolve, you get a warning dialog. But it does seem to work. Haven’t been able to check full capabilities because of power issues.
I recommend the safest config option is the 580.
