What you can do is e-mail support about this question.
And, to make sure it works visit a store nearby where they sell the Blackmagic Shuttle and ask if they can try it on an Ivy Bridge laptop, maybe after closing hours, with your HDMI camera. That’s what I’m planning to do if they are available.

But it’s far from ideal, I know that.

  • See if you can check out the firmware from the Asmedia chipset.

110230 works. You can check it with u.bat (Google it).

I have also an Asmedia 1042 and it doesn’t work (yet).

Hopefully a firmware update of yours works but be VERY VERY careful with that as you can’t go back, unless the ITX board manufacturer gives it to you.

  • That’s a Fresco Logic controller. Search for it on these forums and Google. No promises…

Being developed by Intel means better firmware/driver support you might think. The problem is that these chips are soldered onto the mainboards of notebooks. Manufacturers don’t give out firmware updates (nor are they in the notebook’s bios updates) so you have to rely on firmware updates for PCI cards with the same chipset. That might not work, as with my ASMedia 1042 controller.

Blackmagic Design must update the firmware of the USB3 Shuttle and the driver in order to work with the new Intel driver.

The Asus N76 has that new Ivy Bridge controller named:

    Intel eXtensible Host Controller

On the Intel 7 Series / C216 Chipset family

Remember that Renesas will introduce a 3rd generation USB3 controllers in Notebooks, so that could make the developers lazy.

My board is Asus N55SF notebook board.

Firmware version is one of the last options I think.

1.14.2 is the same as 1.14.3. Unknown device.

    1.14.3 doesn’t work ok.

My control panel settings are greyed out.
    Media Express all black
AMCAP shows: 80004002: Cannot find VCapture:IAMStreamConfig

Going to try 1.14.2 now, but i would like to have your firmware version as this doesn’t bring me any further, and the key lies there I think.

I have seen firmwares 110930, have 110530 myself, but I don’t have that in a zip file, so I can’t go back if it goes wrong.

    I’ve e-mailed you again Paolo.

1.14.3 is the one I’m installing next. I did try Media Express with 1.14.8 though and it didn’t work.

Ah, ok Paolo. Thanks. I’ve already e-mailed you about this a couple of days ago.

Can you check your chipsets firmware with the D.bat file?
    Hopefully that helps me out.
