ASMedia USB3 Controller users, have some tips?
Hi,
I know some of you use the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle with an ASMedia USB 3 Controller.
So far, I have only HDMI audio, black screen in every capture application. Unit is recognized in BMD Control Panel (under start menu).
Updated ASMedia driver (1.14.8). Firmware is 110530_00_02_39
I also tried composite video in, same story, nothing.
Tried switching to component and back: doesn’t work.Power management is off, Nvidia drivers are updated to the latest (296.10). OS is Win7 64Bit Home Premium. 8GB RAM.
Blackmagic software driver 7.9.4 and 9.2 tried. No warnings in device manager.
In AMCap, i have the common message: “frame rate doesn’t match”, but I’ve tried every option. It’s just normal PAL SD resolution to begin with, 25FPS.

Hi Jr,
on my setup (Asus P9X79)
I noticed that with driver 1.14.8 I got no video inputs (always solid black), I was compelled to downgrade Asmedia drivers to 1.14.4 (but intensity shuttle works with 1.14.3 too).Hope it helps,

Ah, ok Paolo. Thanks. I’ve already e-mailed you about this a couple of days ago.
Can you check your chipsets firmware with the D.bat file?

I have not received any mail from you 🙁
I’m not sure to be able to check it quickly, but I did not make any firmware update, since I suppose that recent drivers builds don’t require separated formware updates. Just installed, plugged and play!
In your first message you talk about Amcap, have you tried with MediaExpress? What is your motherboard?Best Regards,

1.14.3 is the one I’m installing next. I did try Media Express with 1.14.8 though and it didn’t work.

1.14.3 doesn’t work ok.
My control panel settings are greyed out.
Media Express all black
AMCAP shows: 80004002: Cannot find VCapture:IAMStreamConfigGoing to try 1.14.2 now, but i would like to have your firmware version as this doesn’t bring me any further, and the key lies there I think.
I have seen firmwares 110930, have 110530 myself, but I don’t have that in a zip file, so I can’t go back if it goes wrong.

1.14.2 is the same as 1.14.3. Unknown device.

I don’t remember your full configuration; what is your motherboard? As I wrote in a previous post, with the same PCI-E USB 3.0 HBA (Asmedia or Nec/Renesas), I wasn’t able to get the Shuttle to work on some mainboards.Ciao,

My board is Asus N55SF notebook board.
Firmware version is one of the last options I think.
