Another very common issue that I run into that I wish I could find a permanent fix on is the error:
“The project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.”
The fix usually is to sign out of Adobe or uninstall and reinstall the software.

No plugins and the graphics card is Nvidia Quadro FX 4800.

Nothing else running. I did disable the realtime scanning also and it still didn’t seem to help. The apps that fail to update are Photoshop, After Effects, and Speedgrade.

I have both CC and CC2014 and the problem exists on both the original project in CC and the _1 for CC2014This current issue is within the last week. No Windows updates have been done. The only thing that has changed is Adobe updates (Can I just say I am hating the subscription model. I miss being able to get the system running smooth and not worry about it until upgrading. Now I feel like I am constantly having to tweak things).
I should also add the many of the CC apps are “failing” when I attempt to click the “update” in the desktop cc application. They don’t give reason why but fail every time. However, Premiere is not one that failed.

January 9, 2012 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Any ideas on why ppro 5 isn’t taking my 48khz 16bit WAV files?I do have Audition 2.0. That was where the audio file was created. Any of the various options for the different wav forms audition can create would not open in premiere. I was able to open them in soundbooth and then reexport them though. My ppro is 5 (not 5.5). I guess I didn’t realize they went back to Audition on 5.5.

January 6, 2012 at 5:53 pm in reply to: Any ideas on why ppro 5 isn’t taking my 48khz 16bit WAV files?Good troubleshoot question. Yes it did open in Soundbooth. I then saved it as a new wav in SB. PPro did let me import that wav file.
Obviously my problem lies with Audition. I also noticed today (and remembered another time) that Audition would not open (says could not find audio device: check device settings) IF ppro was open. When I close ppro, audition opens and seems to work fine. This could have happened since my last adobe update which was a week or so ago.
I’m a little curious what the benefits/downsides would be to switching over to soundbooth vs audition for my day to day stuff. I have not really taken a liking to soundbooth and have loved using audition. Never really understood why they did away with audition except for the purpose of pushing the loops and music side of soundbooth.

January 4, 2012 at 7:23 pm in reply to: ERROR: The file has an unsupported compression typeHey Tim,
I am still PC. I am able to do Mp3 but would prefer the uncompressed format. I am just a little confused as to what has changed in my process that wav isn’t working.

BTW, I did update my drivers for Quadro. Can’t really tell if that helped or not. Now it seems when my computer goes to screen saver mode, I lose my 2nd monitor and have to go back into the nvidia properties to get it back on. I did however seem to be a few updates behind on those drivers. Adobe was all up to date though.
