Ok, cool thanks. It’s live to tape. What mic would you recommend? And do you have any other suggestions on recorders? Like brands to look at and brands to stay away from.

I was looking around and found the Sound Devices 788T. And I’ve heard some good things about it so far. If I went with something like this, would I need a mixer to go into it? And what would be good mixer?

Yea, the F to EOS mount, works great on the 550d. I use it currently.

Maybe a anamorphic widescreen mode, because it’s cool looking
-AVCHD video format
-it not costing like $5000 dollars
-either two CF cards slots or a CF and SDXC card slots

I’d also recommend the 50mm f1.8 it’s only 100 bucks. and it’s a great little lens, it’s fast and pretty sharp.

Do you know how much better a Class 10 is over a Class 6 for video? On the 550D?

Oh sorry for the miss information on the 7D, I wasn’t 100% sure on it. But yea the Zoom works with anything, even by itself. It’s a separate device.
