Hey Josh.

I just use the Transcend 32GB Class 6 cards, and have been very happy with them.

I recommend always getting a spare. I had one go bad once, and I used my spare until I got home. Then I went back and forth with Transcend three times (I got lost in their automated system), and had a replacement in about ten days after I sent it in. No issues.

Yeah.

They’ve got the same part number, the same price, and they are both Class 6 cards, so I think they must be the same.

Maybe some wisenacre just put in two entries, in order to come up with more hits in the search engine?

They both look the same to me. But if you really want to, you could contact SanDisk (but I wouldn’t bother).

Do you know how much better a Class 10 is over a Class 6 for video? On the 550D?

Honestly? I don’t. But if the rating calls for a Class 6, if it were me I would start with that, and pocket the difference.

If your a professional, I would definetly get a class 10. This is the newest and fastest writing cards that will give you the least problems.

As far as the Transcend. I have 5 of them and issues will all of them when recording long events. They can’t handle the long recording. My cards are class 6. I’ve also had media errors with transcend. They used to be reliable, but now it seems the new batch isn’t performing well.

Maybe buy one SandDisc class 10 and 1 elcheapo transcend class 6.

I have recorded for several hours on the Class 6, and not had any issues with it. I did have one card fail (as cards and tapes some times will), but it was not anything specifically related to Class 6.

I apologize, but I don’t understand that advice at all. Why would you advise that?

Hi Josh.

I looked again at your original post. I apologize. I need to clarify that I have shot lots of footage on an HF S10 in AVCHD on Class 6 media, and I don’t think you would have any problems on Class 6 with AVCHD.

However, the T2i/550 is not AVCHD. It delivers maybe a little more than half-again as much data to the card as an HF S10, and therefore I would think that a Class 10 card is well advised.

I am not an expert in that field, but I would not purchase a Class 6 card for a T2i/550.
