I wonder why Acrobat 8 seems to work. Maybe it is something peculiar to a G4 and it is different on an Intel machine.

BTW, the Leopard install went perfectly on one G4 laptop (install and archive) but on the other I had to do an “Install and erase” to get it to work. However, given all of the trouble others have mentioned about running FCP and After Effects with Leopard, I am not installing Leopard on my Mac Pro (8 core) until these issues are addressed. That said, I am dying to know if the new OS makes FCP and Compressor, Motion and Soundtrack Pro run faster and use more of the processing power.

I installed Leopard on my g4 laptop and also Adobe CS3 Design Premium. I just checked out Acrobat 8 and it seemed to work just fine–that is it opened a pdf document. I also checked PS and it worek okay–at least it opened.

Thanks for the information. I think the HVX 200 is a good choice compared to HDV cameras, but I would like to keep as much of my existing gear as possible. Also, I like to see flesh tones on a calibrated monitor and check clip to clip consistencey for color. I shoot a lot in strange environments with no light kit possible so the light may change as sun comes through a side window and/or the color of the walls may be different in different clips so I don’t fully trust the scopes without seeing the result.

I guess that means a new calibrated HD monitor. Are the LCD professional monitors as good as the CRT calibrated monitors? Any thoughts about the Matrox MXO and down converting HD to SD and doing the color correction using the scopes and viewing on the SS monitor for getting the HD footage properly color balanced?….Joseph
