What’s your deliverable format?

Yes, but if you do that you’ll have to have a separate external limiter.
The better answer is “insert edit after layoff”

I wonder if we could get some benchmark from a 16x box, or an explanation where the 16x vs. 8x bottlenecks could be. 2 gtx470s and a red rocket sound like a lot to be going through one single pci8x slot.

September 24, 2011 at 4:34 pm in reply to: Premiere 5.5 Unable to import FCP 7 projects:Getting a functional XML out of FCP isn’t the problem. These are XML’s that work in DaVinci, color, and go back into FCP without an issue. The issue is with premiere pro.
XML’s with dv files work, it’s XML’s with prores… Which are about 90% of files, I’m trying to make sure all my workflows work before firing on a purchase…

September 24, 2011 at 4:28 am in reply to: Premiere 5.5 Unable to import FCP 7 projects:They are extremely simple sequences, the only thing I can imagine throwing them for a loop is some stills, but sequences without stills won’t import either.
I’m going to post a link to one of the XML’s just to see if anyone can import it, as even unlinked from the media, it refuses to open.
Can a kind soul out there try to import this XML onto their system, just to see? If I know that they can open it, then I’ll know the problem is on my end. And I’ll have to reinstall, or get the full version or something.
here it is on my dropbox

September 23, 2011 at 9:55 pm in reply to: Premiere 5.5 Unable to import FCP 7 projects:Also is this normal?
I can only get output through my Blackmagic card if I’m in a sequence preset specifically for it, and that’s uncompressed. If I choose a custom setting I can only output through DV Firewire.
https://yfrog.com/nz94458192p
https://yfrog.com/g0173cjpI can choose a blackmagic Uncompressed preset and then change the codec to Pro-Res, but seems strange.
Also there are no ProRes presets, should there be?

September 23, 2011 at 9:34 pm in reply to: Premiere 5.5 Unable to import FCP 7 projects:That would make sense if it was the trial of 5, this is the trial of CS5.5,
which “Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 – The trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 includes all sequence presets, editing modes, and encoders and decoders (codecs) that are included in the full, activated version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5.”
—
So I can import an XML of a sequence with a single DV clip. It seems that the problem is that I don’t have any Pro-Res presets in Premiere, is there a way of getting Pro-Res Presets for Premiere?
This can’t just be me, and seems a huge oversight in the trial, since it seems to be a full version media locked.

September 23, 2011 at 7:39 pm in reply to: Premiere 5.5 Unable to import FCP 7 projects:I finally got one XML file in there, it was a XML v3, and bin only, as soon as I try to export a sequence, I’m getting the error.

From my understanding its not going to be immediate, as FCPx doesn’t have tracks so any import utility will have to interpret tracts. All the other stuff in FCPX I can understand, but why get rid of tracks completely? It’s a really useful metaphor, ESPECIALLY for audio.
And does anyone actually have any clients going to FCPX? Everyone I know is staying in 7, moving Back to Avid, or going to premiere. Personally, I’m moving my personal projects to premiere, and I’m pretty happy with it.
