Users of Final Cut Pro X can now benefit by the use of the Cubix Xpander unit fitted with GPU graphic cards. Since the recent Final Cut Pro X 10.0.1 software update, GPU acceleration is now used to speed up foreground export functions. It’s also important to note that this new update also includes XML support which allows you to import and export your Final Cut Pro project with DaVinci Resolve.

    Hi Stuart,

Do you know if fcpx can render from a different GPU card than ui?, multiple GPU is supported?

so far that new xml won’t work with current resolve. I suspect BMD will need to add in support to parse the new AXEL apple extended editing language flavor of XML.

hey mr jones…it’s been years….how you doing?
i was wondering if you have actually tested the xml export function in resolve and did you have success importing a fcpx project into resolve. i am very seriously wanting to move into davinci land again and it would be great to know that my clients who are switching to FCPX will be able to send me projects for grading…thanks for any info you might have hope you’re well!

From my understanding its not going to be immediate, as FCPx doesn’t have tracks so any import utility will have to interpret tracts. All the other stuff in FCPX I can understand, but why get rid of tracks completely? It’s a really useful metaphor, ESPECIALLY for audio.

And does anyone actually have any clients going to FCPX? Everyone I know is staying in 7, moving Back to Avid, or going to premiere. Personally, I’m moving my personal projects to premiere, and I’m pretty happy with it.
