  • oh, i was under the impression that scripting in after effects was referred to as expressions (to make after effects seem more unique or something, marketing stuff), didn’t realize they were distinct things

  • in the time it took for my post to be approved, i’ve since transitioned to after effects for the text animations i need, and learned that after effects…well…effects…can be used in premier pro.

my question is, are there any tutorials or project files i can dissect or reverse engineer to make something very similar to the text effects in that video?

    and also

everything in after effects seems to be based around having a fixed duration, is there any way to make the duration dependent on length of the active region of the timeline instead? so i can just drag the bar in the timeline out however far i need it, instead of guessing how long everything is going to take and punching in numbers manually?

turns out the vegas animation system was much more advanced than i though, i probably could pull off that text wave effect, but i’d need to do it letter by letter, somewhat time consuming

but that begs the question, is there any way to save a text animation? like, make a neat drop down and spin animation for one line of text, then save it as “drop down and spin”, then just use that for whatever text you want? that would be great
