The exact model of the camera is: Sony NEX EA50UK

The settings were 1080/25P FX, which is 24 Mbps, hope that helps.

    Hi All,

Good discussion whilst I’ve been tucked up in bed!

    No, I’m not on a Mac – I’m on a Windows 7 PC.

As for the trimming, that isn’t really the issue – it’s the files aren’t copying.

Yep, will have to go and badger Adobe about this. if I get a response I’ll post it here.

Thanks for all your help and input!

    Hi Tom.

The media is AVCHD shot on a Sony NEXEA50 or similar ( I can never remember the name of model of the camera)!

    Hi Alex,

Yes, sorry – bad terminology on my part. I meant four separate media files.

It is odd – i’ve done this before with smaller projects and it has worked ok.

I’m using CS6 by the way.

    Kind regards

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for the advice.

The trouble is not with Premiere not trimming clips – it’s the fact that it doesn’t copy certain files that are used in the sequences when it is creating the condensed version of the project.

So say I have clips A B C and D and I’m using parts of all of those clips across all my sequences. When I try to copy and condense the project Premiere will only copy clips A and C for example. This is even when I select every sequence as a source in the project manager. I don’t understand it!

    Thanks for all the help.

This is resolved now – I duplicated the tracking null and pre-comped it with the ballet dancer and then used the pre-comp as the displacement map.

    Ashish,

Thank you! I think that will work. I will try it when I am on the computer.

Thank you all for your replies.

Hi Dave, thanks for the suggestion, but that doesn’t work, unfortunately. I need to parent the dancer to the tracking data to get her to sit in the scene correctly (i.e. to move with the camera movement of the scene).

It’s frustrating as I have tried pre-comping the dancer etc and nothing works!
