I’m in Europe and my “experiences” with notes and newsletters from “news@vegas.magix.net” are exactly the same as those of Richard Jones. I also have received SCS offers regularly. I might add that the famous “Xara” offer from MAGIX arrived on May 30, closing June 6. I signed up with MAGIX somewhere wuite a few years ago.
The logical reason might of course be that the transition of customer databases is happening gradually.

    @Richard and others,
you’ll find the link to the VPro 13+14 offer in the “Vegas Pro 13+14 offer” thread on the SCS Vegas Pro forum.

The interview part is in English there. Some questions are in German, Gary’s answers are all in English.
See “nächste Seite”. “Einleitung” is mostly translations from answers.

May 25, 2016 at 8:15 am in reply to: RIP Vegas Pro

Chris Dolan of SCS (he moved from Vegas Pro to Catalyst dev.) posted a.o. this on his public Google+.

—MAGIX did not purchase Catalyst Browse, Catalyst Prepare, nor Catalyst Edit (and some others) — those are products I will continue to work on here at Sony.
Some of my former Sony colleagues have taken jobs with MAGIX (in fact, MAGIX appears to be hiring more—). I truly wish them well and I believe that Vegas has a strong future. A number of those people were part of Sonic Foundry before Sony purchased Vegas from them back in 2003, so this transition has an interesting precedent.

RC (as we’re using acronyms) on the track header and uncheck Expand track layers. If you saw red at the start/end of an event on the timeline, click Esc.

(Sorry you had to wait, Grazie ;))

See if this SCS KB item is of any help.

April 27, 2016 at 12:29 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10.0 Error

You may be running out of resources. Movie Studio Platinum 10 is 32-bit and only has 2GB of RAM to work with.

Try working on your project in pieces. For example if your timeline is 30 minutes long, save three ten minute sections into three project files using File -> Save As. Edit each section separately, render, and re-import into a new master project to stitch them together into a final audio and video stream. (from SCS KB)

You could search for “2GB memory cap fix”. Or better still, test with the free trial of MSPlatinum 12 or 13 to see if it fixes the problem.

As Mike says, you need to provide more info. Meanwhile, all we can suggest for you is to reset software to default settings and preferences.
SCS KB article #2744: “Close the program. Now press CTRL+SHIFT while double-clicking on the program’s icon (note: in All Programs, not on Taskbar) to launch it. You should see a window that asks “Do you want to reset all preferences to default values?” Place a checkmark next to “Delete all cached application data” and then click Yes.
For older products, continue to hold the CTRL & SHIFT keys until the program is fully up and loaded.

  • The Vasst FasstApp StillMotion is a good inexpensive plugin option.

Grazie, the OP’s first post certainly implied that. His second post (and Mike’s reply) prompted my response.

The Split-Screen View button in the Video Preview window selected to create a split-screen preview that bypasses all video effects (track effects, event effects, media effects, and video output effects) without removing them from your project?
