Are you saying it’s a waste of time trying to look at the blue channels on my LCD?

I can’t seem to find a proper reference to calibrate. I know it’s not Rec 709 I just want to see a balanced signal through my 32″ Samsung 1080p HDTV.

My client doesn’t care that it’s not a broadcast monitor but I want to at least try to get a decent reference out of it. Basically a stop gap until I grab a BM.

I went to the Flanders site. $5,000!!! Also, they only have up to 24″. I would prefer a 32″. Are there other options?

That makes sense. The only reason I asked in the first place was because i sent an XML to Davinci Resolve Lite and that speed change clip didn’t come across. I thought that maybe it was a render issue. Now, I just see that it is a problem with Resolve handling speed changes. Anyone have a recommendation on how to handle speed changes with Resolve? I’m guessing you have to bake the clip then place it manually in the conform Window. Also I noticed that if you have a clip above the secondary storyline (Third Storyline?) It won’t show up in Resolve either. I moved the clip down to fit into the secondary storyline and the clip showed up in Resolve.

Wow! What A workaround. I love the timecode overlay in FCP7. I use it everyday. I can’t believe Apple still hasn’t put this in yet. Especially with so much room in the panel around the timecode window.

So say you are working on an A Camera B Camera type show and you like what you did with camera A. You save it as a still and apply to all the other shots down your timeline. Then the client comes in and decides that he wants to tweek camera A. Once you have something the client likes what’s the best and least time consuming way for now updating all those other shots?

Annnnnnddddddd is it possible to use or select the audio that is connected to my offline media. When the editor gives me the offline it does come with audio. It would seem to me that I should be able to just use that as my audio track without making a separate audio file.

Yes! I figured this out about 20 minutes after I originally posted. I wasn’t planning on updating my OS just yet. But as I am addicted to learning the Davinci I had no choice. Installed. Up and running. That issue is totally fixed.

One more quick question: What’s the best way to increase contrast in my picture? Still learning all the different options there are with this amazing program.

I’ve been having a specific problem with cross dissolves. Specifically, when I add a dissolve to the beginning of a clip FCPX also adds one to the end of the clip or somewhere down the timeline. Sometimes I dont even notice it because I’m zoomed in. Is it a bug or a preference I haven’t noticed? It’s driving pretty crazy.
