Blue only node
Is there a way to create a node where it gives me a blue only effect similar to a button you would press on a broadcast monitor. Trying to dial in my colors on my HDTV as best I can till I purchase a broadcast monitor worthy of this forum 🙂

You can’t do this in the outgoing signal path, it has to be done on the display. It’s literally shutting off R and G gun in a CRT display, doesn’t matter in a flat panel. But if you want to do it anyway use a blue gel over your eye.

Are you saying it’s a waste of time trying to look at the blue channels on my LCD?
I can’t seem to find a proper reference to calibrate. I know it’s not Rec 709 I just want to see a balanced signal through my 32″ Samsung 1080p HDTV.
My client doesn’t care that it’s not a broadcast monitor but I want to at least try to get a decent reference out of it. Basically a stop gap until I grab a BM.

Not saying it’s a waste of time to try, saying its not relavent to solide state displays. I suppose you could still use smpte bars and a blue gel to adjust saturation, but phase/tint, should not need adjusting in a digital world.
That said, good advice and a gel recommendation here, from a doc aimed at CRT displays.
