  • I figured it out…

I’m not sure why i didn’t think of it before.

But i just took all the media offline and relinked it… I wish there was some type of “Reload” like AE has…

    -Thanks,

  • Think of it this way.

The project has 1 piece of media and 1 sequence.
We will call them “Media_01” and “Seq_01”.

After PP converts the project from 4.0 to 5.5
I try to play “Seq_01” and it needs rendering (Red Line).

If i drag “Media_01” into the “New Item Button” It creates “Seq_02”
    which also needs rendering.

HOWEVER, if i IMPORT the exact same media as “Media_01” and then drag that into the “New Item Button” and try to play “Seq_03” (The one just created) it plays fine (Yellow line) no rendering.

So the problem has to do with the info/properties/meta-data already associated with “Media_01”. I am trying to figure out how to update/refresh that info…

    I hope this clarifies things,

    Thanks,
    JWM

  • No, I am not copying and pasting from old to new (No effects or anything).

I opened my old project with 5.5 and had PP just recreate a new 5.5 project. (Just like AE does going from old to new).

I am aware that the 4.0 PP did not natively work with DSLR footage, which is why i said this is what i think is causing the problem.

If i create a sequence with untouched footage I need to render.
If i IMPORT that EXACT same footage, and create s sequence with that It seems fine. It’s only the footage that moved from the old project to the new. (If that makes sense). EVEN IF ITS A NEW SEQUENCE.

    -Thanks again,
    JWM
