  • Hello Brian,

So long as Motion is set to ‘None’, Media 100 should be able to use it, as long as you Quit and Re-Launch Media 100. If Quitting and Re-Launching does not help, I might quickly recommend Uninstalling and Reinstalling the Driver (using the same installer), and maybe deleting the “com.media100.Video Output” file from here –
    Macintosh HD :: User :: [ Current User / Home folder ] :: Library :: Preferences

Note that Media 100 is actually designed to allow all other programs asking to use the hardware to use it; as such, if another program like Motion is attempting to use it, Media 100 should simply yield, and that can prevent the carry-over, at least initially.

    Thanks,

    Jon

    Hello Ronald,

You can find the Tutorial for this effect, called the “BCC Correct Selected Color”, here –

The tutorial is in Avid Media Composer as well, so this should help.

    Thanks,

    Jon

January 21, 2016 at 9:12 pm in reply to: Codecs Media 100 after installing 2.1.7

    Hello Cornelis,

Media 100 would be able to use these Codecs, but it doesn’t install them. If you have access to another system that has these Codecs (your own system or someone else’s), you should be able to copy them from that system to this one. The location that these Components would be is here –
Macintosh HD :: Library :: Quicktime

If you are unable to access a system with these Codecs/Components, you might be able to download them somewhere. Primarily what you would be looking for are the Apple Quicktime Components.

    Thank you.

January 13, 2016 at 3:08 pm in reply to: Boris FX in AVID Media Composer: layer problem

    Hello Per,

Just to confirm, you are referring to this problem in the FX10 interface itself? If so, here would be what I recommend.

When you first launch FX10 as a Transition, you should see the V1 and V2 tracks – First thing I would recommend would be to DeSelect both tracks, and after that apply the BCC Swish Pan. What this will do is place the BCC Swish Pan as a separate layer above Video 1 and Video 2.

Next, expand this BCC Swish Pan layer and you will see a sub-layer that reads “Layer to Reveal”, and to the right of that you will see “V1”. Click on this “V1” and change it to V2/Video 2. Then, lastly, highlight the first Keyframe of the BCC Swish Pan layer, and set the ‘Percent Done’ to 0, and then highlight the last Keyframe of the Swish Pan and set the Percent Done to 100. If the Interpolation is set to Ease In/Out or Linear, the Swish Pan should now execute as desired.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Jon

    Hello Steve,

Do you think you can send me an email at support@borisfx.com? You can write it to my attention — I want to quickly open a case about this situation. Also, if this is on a Mac, could you perhaps forward a Crash Report?

    Thanks

November 30, 2015 at 10:11 pm in reply to: Is there an issue with BCC 9 and Radeon 15.11 drivers?

    Hello Tom,

That’s interesting that the Optical Flow is blacking out the video, as that should be a purely-CPU driven filter. Quickly, what Host and OS are you using?

    Thanks,

    Jon

November 23, 2015 at 11:18 pm in reply to: RED OpenCL distorts text

    Hello Kuhnen,

A few questions quickly. First, when you refer to the OpenCL, are you referring to the OpenGL? I ask because RED does not incorporate OpenCL in either preview or rendering. Also, is this 36 Pt text within another layer, such as a Title Container or 3D Container? If it is, is the overall Scale for this Container set to 100% the whole time? Is this inside RED stand-alone, or are you using RED inside of a Host? If you are using RED inside of a Host, I presume that you see this problem immediately inside the RED interface, rather than after you go back into the Host?

    Thanks,

    Jon

November 19, 2015 at 5:53 pm in reply to: Boris IMPORTING STILLS problem

    Hello Steve,

When you Import, are you doing this by using the File > Import command, or are you using the ‘Add Image Media’ button in the RED timeline? If you’re going through the File > Import approach, does using the Add Image Media approach cause the same problem? Is this happening in the stand-alone version of the RED or Avid FX engines, or just when loaded from Avid (or any other host)? Lastly, is it both the X and Y pixels that are adjusting, or just one of these two dimensions?

    Thanks,

    Jon

October 19, 2015 at 6:05 pm in reply to: media 100 crashes during rendering hd material

    Hello Alon,

This could be the result of the version of Media 100 in conjunction with your OSX version. Media 100 Suite 2.1.5 was specifically designed for OSX 10.9, and will likely experience problems with older versions of OSX, especially as far back as 10.6. As such, I would recommend Uninstalling, deleting the Preferences, and then reinstalling using this version –

October 9, 2015 at 9:05 pm in reply to: AvidFX Video levels

    Hello Ryan,

In the RED Project Settings window, there should be a check-box that reads ‘Generate Safe Levels’. This is commonly unchecked by default, in which case I would recommend enabling this function.

    Thanks,

    Jon
