Byron,
When you say that you’re unable to get the Object Remover effect to appear in the render, are you referring to the Wire Remover, or something else, such as Motion Key or Pixel Fixer? Also, you say that the fix is visible throughout the entire timeline in RED’s interface, but do you also see it when you scrub through the clip, pre-Render, in Vegas’ UI, or has it already disappeared?
How long is the clip that you’re applying RED to? Do you think you can send a copy of it, or a few seconds of it, to me (maybe through Dropbox/YouSendit) at support@borisfx.com?
Thanks.

Derek,
We weren’t able to reproduce your problem. As such, I was wondering if you could send us a project file, where the tracker information is suddenly missing (maybe another copy right before that point)? You can send it to support@borisfx.com. Or, if you could give a rundown of your workflow and project specs, that would help us as well. This does sound like it could be an issue on Vegas’ side, but if we are able to find the problem, we can look into the cause.
Thanks,
Jon

Daengel,
If you’re looking for a tutorial on the workings of the effect, it is true that we don’t have one inside Vegas, but we do have a tutorial video that shows the workings of the effect in After Effects, and that would be largely identical. There is also a PDF that should have come with the effect (I can send a copy to you if you don’t have it) and you can even load presets for the effect as alternate starting points.
However, it sounds like you’re having problems even getting the effect to work in the first place? If so, what happens when you try to apply the effect? Primarily, do you not see the desired change to the video, or something else, such as Vegas crashing?
Thanks,

April 15, 2013 at 10:20 pm in reply to: Reduce Flicker 1-2-1, 2-3-2, 1-1-1, what’s the difference?Nicolas,
These three options are in reference to pull-down/field-duplication for interlaced/progressive material, and the one you will want to use is dependent on the format of the video you are using. If you are running Progressive footage, then you can go with the 1-1-1 option or dis-engage this function altogether. Keeping this function on at all times is fine, but this function will add time to the final render.
What kind of footage are you using?

Daniel,
Thanks for including the movie – when looking at it frame-by-frame I see clearly the pixelation that you are referring to. If you create this in AvidFX running stand-alone, does it cause the same problem? What I might recommend is to go into the Project Settings (under Edit) and toggle these two checkboxes: ‘1:2:1 Deflickering’ and ‘Better Quality Field Rendering’.
Do you think you can send me a copy of the AvidFX project file? You can send it to Jon at support@borisfx.com, and from there I can work with some individuals in trying to enhance the shadow appearance.
Thanks.

March 28, 2013 at 1:43 pm in reply to: Problem: Adding two plugins from BCC crashes Premiere CS6Jacques,
Thanks for the additional information here. Hopefully you received my email sent to you shortly ago. In your emails to Support, however, you only mention the two effects ‘DeNoise’ and ‘Optical Stabilizer’. Now that you’ve found the problem with Unsharp Mask, I presume that, like Optical Stabilizer, this effect is only a problem when working in conjunction with DeNoise?
If you have not received an email from Support already, you can let me know here.
Thanks.

BCC OFX 7.0 is built so that it expects certain cards/drivers, and the problem you are running into is that your model card is not on this list. If you are willing, you can try BCC OFX 8.0, to see if the same error comes up; BCC OFX 8.0 does not have the same rigid expectations as BCC OFX 7.0, so it’s fully possible that the updated version will be free from this problem.
I would recommend downloading the trial version and trying this out in a new project. This way you won’t be stuck with projects looking for BCC 8.
Another thing you can try, in meantime, with either BCC 7 or BCC 8 would be some of the other OpenGL effects, such as Lens Flare, Damaged TV and Glare.
Thanks.

Stuart,
I actually just sent you an email from Boris FX Technical Support. If you have not yet received this email, let me know. Primarily I recommend an Uninstall/Reinstall/update, but there are a few additional things I go into detail with.
Thanks.

Melodie,
Just to let you know, there are various tutorials on the Media 100 website, broken down by Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, on this page –
https://www.media100.com/tutorial/Among these tutorials, in the Intermediate section, is one specific to Multi-clip editing, and this tutorial, in particular, is very thorough and has helped several people I’ve sent it to. There’s about 19 tutorials in total.
Thanks,
Jon
