Yep. That solved my problem. Wasn’t thinking it through in terms of combining the shape layers into one. Thanks so much!

Thanks everyone. 10 hours is the unanimous winner!
This makes me happy. I was thinking a few people might say 12-14 or so. But that’s probably more of a producer’s answer than a freelancers editor’s.
    Thanks again!

Thank you sir. That is exactly what I was looking for.

To be more specific, I mean specific notes, within a timeline. Like in avid, where you can place a marker down, and write a note within that marker.

That is exactly what I need. Thanks very much. I will certainly throw him a few dollars, as the time saved with these scripts will be money saved too.

    Hi,
It’s the comps themselves I would like to resize. By default, when I create several comps from stills, they all automatically size the comps to the size of the image.
And yes, the resolution won’t be an issue.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    This one was DV25 411.
For this most recent test, I was using SD. I’ve also tried it with DNX 220x material with the same result.
Also, this was on my Mac-based Avid.
Thanks for getting back to me!

    Hi,
I would use AMA to open the clips in Avid, then transcode them to a suitable DNX codec. I find that Avid works great with files that are mxf’d, as opposed to Final Cut, which always seems to want to render.

January 3, 2011 at 6:39 pm in reply to: CS5 to Avid

    Hello,
I am trying to do this as well. I export an AAF from Avid MC5 and try to import it into Premiere CS5. I am working in 1080i
However, I am then told “the importer has recorded a generic error”

I followed Adobe’s instructions on this matter.
    Any clues?
    Cheers

    Randy,
I asked the assistant editor if he had rendered to the C drive. He told me he hadn’t, I’m yet to check up on that myself.
I try to tell people to be pretty careful about that kind of thing, as Avid has a habit of choosing whatever Unity drive it wants to send media to.
If nobody else has had this problem, perhaps I need to make the time to check exactly where that media rendered to. We worked around the issue (rerendered), but would like to solve the mystery for the future.
    Thanks for the response!
    Ian
