Thank you for your insight. I don’t know why I got into the habit of installing these codecs, probably some mis-information way back down the road.
Anyways, I installed VLC, and the problem is gone. I can only assume that you were correct and these k-lite codecs/MPC are crummy.
Thanks so much! I’ll make sure to stay far away from k-lite in the future. Do you foresee any future problems by having these codecs installed?
Thanks again!

I posted this a while back. I think i solved the problem by using MPEG. I may have been experiencing some hardware issues as well. I eventually upgraded to win 7(64) and CS5.. never looking back.

*slamming my head against my desk*
Here’s how I fixed it… Hold onto your seats.
Earlier in my quest, I found a recent updated to my Nvidia drivers… I updated my drivers, and it disabled my SLI configuration after reboot.
(keep in mind, SLI was ENABLED when this problem started.. and I’ve also reboot a dozen times since)
I messed around w/ some settings while SLI was off… then re-enabled SLI… restarted the computer…
and now it works fine… I just dragged 20 m2t clips into premiere, and they are all indexing and conforming fine… no more “media pending”
Well.. hopefully this might help someone in the future…
crazy.

i just checked. you are absolutely right! I dialed my CS setting for 60.1 for the next time I run into this situation. Thanks a million!

Okay. Ya, so i wasn’t too far off. I had a feeling the majority of the problem was because of the florescent and/or mixing that with incandescent. Luckily I can still pull the shot i need out of my footage, and thankfully when played at regular speed it’s very, very hard to tell because the shift is so gradual.. i can only notice it when I scrub through at like 3x speed.
Thanks for your help! Lesson learned! I’ll have to look into that clearscan feature and see if I have it.

Another thing you can try is reducing the CBR.. I know that I have run into issues w/ some DVD’s players that can’t handle anything over 7Mb CBR… Most new DVD players should be able to play anything 9.2Mb or less (If I recall correctly)… but older ones will have less compatibility… Try a super low number, just for diagnostic purposes, and see how that plays…

April 23, 2009 at 5:00 pm in reply to: For all you with “Out of Memory” errors in Encore CS3It sounds like you are having a codec or video card problem.
Try the following things.
Download and install “K-Lite”
Diagnose your DirectX drivers by typing “dxdiag” into RUN in the Start Menu
Try changing the format of the files (if possible) outside of Encore. Try importing MPG2, different AVI codecs, or h.264… see how that works… If you have premiere, sometimes it’ll work as a quick file-format changer…
Grab a RAM memory test freeware. I recommend this one.
https://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
You’ll need to create a boot-disk, restart, and let it do it’s thing.
Try re-installing your Video Card Drivers.
What Anti-virus are you running… Try disabling it or uninstalling it.. if you’re worried about viruses.. disable or disconnect
Worst case scenario… reinstall Encore CS3
Super worst case scenario.. back up your stuff… wipe your drives.. reinstall XP and CS3
Let us know how it goes.. I hope you get it figured out. Good Luck!

April 23, 2009 at 3:32 pm in reply to: For all you with “Out of Memory” errors in Encore CS3Wow, i posted this a while ago. I have been noticing some very quirky things with these Adobe Programs… Try right clicking on your C:/ drive (or whatever drive your OS is on) and clearing your TEMP files… haha.. this actually resolved a major problem w/ premiere one time…
Basically, Do everything in your power to make it as though Adobe is the ONLY program on the computer. As if you built this computer, installed adobe, and nothing else… Do that, and it’ll work fine.
Restart the computer, change all your Startup and nonessential program settings as mentioned earlier in this thread. Clean everything up, TEMP files, Recycle bin, old unused drivers, remove unused software, defrag, reboot again. If all else fails, completely remove anti-virus software.. I know that I ran into an issue with Kasperski interfering with Adobe one time.

February 25, 2009 at 8:05 pm in reply to: Premiere pro cs3 external recorded sound out of syncUmm…
Try diagnosing general premiere problems…
I know that I did have some crazy problem when I was trying to output my audio/sync project.. and I ended up trying a whole bunch of things.. but clearing the Windows temp files actually fixed it.. (sounds stupid, i know.. )
otherwise.. try using adobe updater to see if you have the latest version…
otherwise.. try rendering the sequence by pressing “enter” and then watching it and see if it’s still sync’d…
Otherwise.. (if you haven’t already done this) try exporting in a variety of different codecs… or give the Export>movie thing a shot….
the only other thing I can think of is maybe your dropping frames on export… not sure if that’s possible, or how to fix it exactly..
I know I might just try dragging some transparent video onto the timeline and adding a timecode to it.. just to see what happens…
sorry i can’t be of more help
