Well, you should do the normal maintenance stuff: trash the prefs, shut off anything else running, in preferences, how much RAM is allocated to photoshop? How about undo levels? for each 700mb image, how much does it say is being used in RAM in the lower-left corner with the file open (example: I have a 1.7mb JPG, letter size, 300dpi, but it registers at 24.1mb when open)? The difference is photoshop keeps the entire image in memory – not just what you see on screen and it can vary depending on a whole host of factors. May have to do one pic at a time?

Egads, I never use real guns. I will use a plastic knockoff that look slike a gun, but I plan on adding bits in post anyway.
There are hazards to using real guns: if you have production insurance, it won’t likely cover a real gun accident of any kind, someone could get shot (either by another actor, the police if you forgot to call and let ’em know you were gonna be doing a video shoot with guns, etc.), real guns can fire, prop guns can’t… there are a whole host of reasons NOT to use a real gun.
Every time I’ve done a shoot with guns, only ONE PERSON can handle the guns when the cameras are not rolling (the designated Gunmaster) and EVERYONE who will be handling a gun on camera must clearly check their gun in and out. Some think it’s overkill, but it doesn’t change the fact that these are guns even only by appearance and must be respected as such. Remember: Brandon Lee was killed on a set with seasoned professionals with a REAL gun. Today, his accident would have been avoided, though only because of his death… might be a paradox there. 😉
Today’s off-the-shelf video editing software applications make real guns on set mostly obsolete. Just take your actors to a shooting range to shoot real guns for an afternoon. They’ll have a BLAST (okay, maybe an intended pun…) and they will know how to handle a real gun and translate that to a fake one.

Hi there, am I right in reading that you will be 3D printing this – as in using a 3D Printer? If that’s the case, Photoshop really isn’t what you need to be using – use a 3D modeller instead (Google Sketchup is free and so is Blender among others). A 3D modeller will have the tools you need to build a 3D model whereas Photoshop really doesn’t.

Hey there, first off, what type of brush do you have selected? Also, if you have settings for a tablet or stylus and you’re using a mouse (for example, if the brush size is dependent on pressure), it can cause issues. Double-check your brush presets – you may have set something and not realized it. Barring that, you can always reset prefs (I think its CMD-OPT-SHIFT on startup or CTRL-ALT-SHIFT) or trash the prefs.

Sounds like an issue with the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2. Can you confirm you get a signal to the Shuttle with another device? Also, try it without ML – just a regular SD card, reformat, etc. to eliminate ML as a culprit.

In photoshop, use Add Noise, monochromatic, about 10% at most.

Depends on which DSLR you have. The HDMI feed on most of the Canon DSLRs is an SD feed during recording (HD on playback for some reason). I don’t recommend it unless you are using the 5D MkIII or if you don’t mind the low-quality feed, any one will work.

It might be time for a new tip. Which model do you have? How do you store your pen? If you usually lay the pen on its side, store it in its holder overnight and the issues usually go away. If not that, try replacing the pen tip or just clean up the the one that’s there (use alcohol).

Well, this is pushing into unknown territory for me. I would imagine you would first set yourself up with an Amazon Seller account if you haven’t already. From there, I’m a little out of answers. You had asked about technical requirements, but I really don’t know what to tell you for putting the video up other than CreateSpace – I suspect their HD content is provided from a different (internal) avenue. Try contacting CreateSpace and ask about HD content for Amazon.
