what i mean by organically is having the interact with the foreground and come from lights in the source. check out the moby- southside video on joseph kahn.com

thanks- hope this isnt a redundant question, i checked the archives.

  • usually we deliver in beta SP, which is why i have the decklink SP. for this particularly, I’m all about making this spot as clean looking as possible. thanks for always having good input. cheers

    you reply fast man,
anamorphic flares are exactly what im talking about. probably use screen mode. will that technique have an “organic” look to it?

  • thanks
what would you say would be the best way to junp back to SD from the DVCPROHD timeline? would it just be a QT export out of final cut to an anamorphic 10 bit file?

also, for anyone else out there with their own home edit suite, is renting higher end decks just part of the equation? also on deliverables, we have comcast out here, and it seems like for local stuff, which is my bread and butter, always seems to degrade a notch. do the national spots have a completely different deliverables system?

    anyway, thanks again

another question is about paths. say, for trapcode 3d stroke, is there a way to bring in paths from illustrator?

i think this is what i need, but im not clear where i find the transform palette, i probably just dont think of it as that name. sorry to have to ask an interface? but this is something i really need to grasp. thanks for taking the time ; )

  • create a solid the same size as the layer, paste that mask on, make it invisible remove the mask from the main layer and set the track mask to the muted solid with the mask applied.

are permissions exclusive, or is there a way to chill them to where i can pretty much do whatever i wanted with user 2? i’ll try the workaround you talked about, ever since DOS phased out when i was a kid, i’m not really command line savvy.

    thanks for the quick help!
