I agree it’s a design flaw and is totally unacceptable in my book.
You NEED a visual cue that something is clickable. No one should have to start hovering over words to see what they can click on. That is a complete waste of users time!!!

This is just a guess but perhaps the CMYK values that your client gave you are for their print adds. Unfortunately, print legal colors, and broadcast legal colors, are two different things, Maybe, FCP X is adjusting the values to keep them broadcast legal? (just a guess, but I’ve seen this happen with other video software) Nothing to worry about.

I don’t know of any way to do this by tagging the effects as favorites but here is a workaround:
Most effects are really Motion templates. If you have Motion, you can right-click the effect and select Open a copy in Motion and then save that copy in a new “Favorites” folder. This only works for effects that are Motion templates (so it doesn’t work with the color corrector but you can access that easily enough with Command+6) but it will give you a new category with copies of the effects you use the most.
Not perfect but might get you closer to what you want. I never though of it before but being able to favorite effects would be a nice addition to FCP X.

Tim, Is there any place that explains the logic behind the forums “trimming” that took place?
Lots of forums are now gone. I use to monitor Apple Logic Pro X and Apple GarageBand forums but they are gone. People have contacted me that the Particle Illusion forum is gone. Was it just forums that had no traffic lately? if so, why is Final Cut Pro Server still there. Apple Logic Pro X had more recent traffic than the FCP Server forum???

Were you able to do this before? Every application usually saves it’s own window size and position but I don’t know of any way to do this globally.

Yea, interlacing is a confusing topic for most people. The key to remember is that if your source is interlaced, you always want to have a Deinterlace setting in your project. Having interlaced video with a Deinterlace setting of None is a recipe for disaster.

That’s another big one. By and large the industry is using Macs and Apple ProRes is the standard everyone uses for delivery. If you are not going to create a Mac version of Vegas Pro, at least license the codecs from Apple so that the PC version can create PoRes files if that’s even possible.
This is one of the reason’s I switched to Mac. I don’t have this problem but I know other Vegas Pro editors do.
BTW, you can buy a Mac Mini for $499 and Apple Compressor for $49 and have a dedicated Mac on your network that listens for files to be placed in a folder and then automatically converts them to ProRes. 😉
