It looks like a static image just scrolling sideways. All you would need to do is create an image that is wider than the frame, drop it on the timeline and extend the end as long as you’d like, then open Pan/Crop and set two keyframes that scroll the image sideways from one end to the other.

Hi Nico,
Do not uninstall Vegas Pro 13 because StillMotion will NOT work in Vegas Pro 14. Due to changes that MAGIX has made to the Script API, none of the current VASST plug-ins work with MAGIX Vegas Pro 14.0.
We are working on making the necessary changes to make our plug-ins compatible but we do not have a date for the completion of that work yet. It is not as simple as MAGIX claims. We recommend that you use Vegas Pro 13.0 if you need to use our plug-ins until they can be updated.Â
Unfortunately, there is no workaround. MAGIX chose to make Vegas Pro 14 incompatible. Now we are faced with the mess of fixing it. ? All I can advise you at this time is to stay with Vegas Pro 13 for now.

My guess would be dust. Any long process that stops in the middle could be stopping because of overheating and the collection of dust in the unit could contribute to that. It’s just a guess but it maybe worth opening it up and see if it’s collected any significant amounts of dust inside.

Wow, that is really strange. I wonder if it’s a graphics card driver problem? Are you using an Apple graphics card or did you put a 3rd party card in? I’ve seen strangeness like this on my own Mac and I haven’t tracked it down to anything specific yet. It only happens once in a while and a reboot usually cures it but in your case I guess that doesn’t work.

There were only two render types that supported CUDA but the rest of Vegas Pro never supported CUDA. They support OpenCL which AMD cards seem to be better at than NVIDIA cards so I would buy an AMD card if I wanted Vegas Pro to run at it’s best. Some will say that the new NVIDIA cards benchmark just as good at OpenCL now so it might not matter anymore but I still stick with AMD.

You can also right-click on an Event on the timeline and select Add Media FX. This will affect the media in every event that it’s used it. It does the same as Mike suggested… i.e., apply the FX to the Media itself, not the Event or the Track.

Sorry I wasn’t clearer in my instructions. ?
I did not mean for you to MAKE a Time Machine backup. I asked if you already HAD a Time machine backup from Snow Leopard. What probably happened is that the Time Machine format has changed from Snow Leopard to Yosemite and the older Snow Leopard cannot read the newer Yosemite format. That’s why I said that if you didn’t have a Time Machine backup that you should CLONE your entire hard drive to a new one and restore from that.
You may have to go forward to go backward! In other words, you may need to actually re-install Yosemite, recover from the Time Machine backup and then clone your entire drive with Carbon Copy Cloner to a new drive. Then follow my second suggestion which is to re-install Snow Leopard and when prompted, Migrate from another Drive (the drive you cloned).
If that doesn’t work, you can at least copy your files from the cloned drive to the new drive manually which is something you cannot do with a Time Machine backup. So the next step is probably to install Yosemite and try again.
Once again, I’m sorry my original instructions were not clearer.

I have not heard them say this. I’m just going by 5 years of historical data. ?
…and if it wasn’t I wouldn’t complain. (as if 5 upgrades for free wasn’t enough?)

They are on two completely different delivery models.
Adobe claims that they had to move to a subscription model so that they could get small changes out quicker. They now feel compelled to ship something every month because they are collecting your money every month.
Apple is on a different release train. They wait until they have enough features to make a big announcement and they don’t charge you a penny for the upgrades. I’ll take Apple’s model over Adobe’s model any day of the week.
Like others have said, FCP X is working fine. I’m not “waiting” for anything new so whatever Apple comes up with is icing on an already solid cake that, for me, is still lightyears ahead of track-based NLEs for editing workflow.
