My guess is that something on your system has broken the MP3 support in your Vegas Pro installation. You should be able to render to MP3 files and constant bitrate MP3’s should not be causing playback problems. It’s hard to say how you might fix it. I would start with re-installing Vegas Pro but if some other software is interfering with Vegas’ ability to work properly with MP3 files, that might not be enough.
I had a problem with Nero and Vegas Pro once. Some programs take over your PC like they own it and cause other programs to stop working. I had to uninstall Nero to get Vegas Pro working properly.

Allow me to be the second and you can head on over to the Final Cut Pro X forum and read about lots of others who will sing it’s praises. Be very weary of what you may have read or heard because FCP X was very minimalist when it first came out and people who rejected it continue to complain about it 6 years later not realizing (or caring) that it’s has improved significantly to the point where I believe it’s the fastest and easiest to use NLE that’s available today. Start reading articles on fcp.co if you want to read about the success stories.

It doesn’t use Tracks which is also it’s biggest asset. You couldn’t get me to edit with a track based NLE again if you tried. BUT… you must first unlearn your old track-based workflows. If you give it a chance, the new track-less workflow will speed up your editing considerably. It’s all about story-lines not tracks (which IMHO, is what editing should be all about).

Like butter on mere iMac Core i5. It also has a proxy workflow if your Mac can’t handle it but I use it on a 2010 Mac Pro 12-Core and have no issues with performance at all.

Has been rock solid for me. I’ve had some crashes with audio plug-ins from IK Multimedia and iZotope. Their stuff works great with Logic Pro X but not so much with FCP X. Other then that it has been a dream work with. I’ve been editing video for 17 years (14 with a track based NLE) and after 3 years with FCP X I will never go back to a track based editor again.

Yea, In Vegas Pro, I’m referring to View | Window | Device Explorer (Ctrl+Alt+7) for those camera card types that Vegas Pro supports. If you have a camera that shoots XDCAM there is View | Window | XDCAM Explorer (Ctrl+Alt+5) and, of course, for tape based cameras there is File | Video Capture… which has both a DV and HDV capture utility.

Try using the Sony AVC encoder and see if it fixes the problem. The MainConcept encoder is extremely old and no one used 60p back in the days that it was created. Perhaps it has a bug that obviously will never be fixed. The Sony AVC encoder is at least controlled by Sony (now MAGIX) and has a better change with modern frame rates.

Vegas Pro really doesn’t “formally” support subtitles. As explained in my previous answer, you would need to use Closed Caption markers in Vegas Pro (which are actually Command Markers) and then export them as an SRT file with a script that Vegas Pro provides. Look up Closed Captioning in the Help file for more information on the topic.
Unfortunately, Vegas Pro doesn’t really distinguish between Closed Captions and Subtitles but they are very different things for very different purposes (e.g., Closed Captions are for people with hearing disabilities and Subtitles are for National Language Translations, Closed Captions are generated by the set-top box or TV and provide no font control, while Subtitles are generated by the content provider and can be anything they want them to be including fonts, drop shadows, etc.).
If you are looking to provide subtitles in several languages, Vegas Pro alone isn’t the tool to do this because you have no easy way to send the titles out for translation. I have a product called Caption Assistant that can help. You can download a 15-day free trial and see if satisfies your situation. While it’s not a subtitle tool, it will get the job done without having to leave Vegas Pro (it’s a plug-in).

I have tons of this stuff that I purchased from Digital Juice when they allowed you to purchase royalty free content separately and spent well over $1,000 over the years. They now offer a one time fee to access their content that is very reasonable (considering what I spent) and the content is great quality for broadcast including royalty free music. They have complete matching packages of animated backgrounds, bumpers, thirds, etc all in a simple theme. I would check them out.

Unless there are other OBS users here who have seen it and worked around it? This could be problem with Vegas Pro and the MPEG4 video files that OBS creates. I would report it to MAGIX and see if they agree that the problem is with Vegas Pro and that only they can fix it. In fairness. MPEG4 is a very broad specification and it’s impossible for any software to support all of it, but if it works with Vegas Pro’s major competitors, it should be in MAGIX interest to fix the problem.

You haven’t told use what render format you are using so it’s really hard to say what could be going wrong. If the bit rate is too high your computer won’t be able to play it back smoothly.
Have you installed any Code Paks (e.g., K-Lite)? These are often the problem with poor rendering quality.
