Yes it does. You rendered it wrong. The only way to fix it is to render it correctly.

It depends on what was used to split these files. If it was simply a file split, then you can stitch them back together by copying all the pieces to a new file from a command prompt like this:
copy /b Cane.mov+Cane-av.mov1+Cane-av.mov2+Cane-av.mov3+Cane-av.mov4+Cane-av.mov5 Cane-new.mov
In other words, just list all of the files 1..5 with + signs between them. The /b is important so that it does a binary copy. You video will be in the Cane-new.mov file (or whatever you choose to call it). The new filename just can’t be the same as an existing file you are trying to copy.

I have never seen this behavior and I can’t imagine why you are not seeing the video in the clips. I don’t think there is an option to turn this on and off but maybe there is. Check the View menu and see if there is an option that’s not turned on but I can’t imagine what it might be.

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum works best with DV AVI files. The footage from your miniDV Handycam is perfect for editing. It also handles HDV/AVCHD files but they are tougher to edit. MPEG from a camcorder are sometimes OK but people who want to edit their videos should avoid DVD camcorders like the plague. DVD formats are meant for deliver not editing. VOB files contain an MPEG stream and lots of other information like chapter points, and captions, etc. They are not meant for editing. WMV is another deliver format that is tough for editing. Forget about DivX or Xvid from YouTube. Vegas flat-out doesn’t like it.

Sounds like you’re getting closer. You will certainly need DVD Architect to make DVD’s.

Usually from Movie Studio you just press the Make Movie button, then choose Burn to DVD and when it’s finished rendering use the Send to DVD Architect Studio button. (at least this is how it works in Movie Studio 6 which is the last version I have)
Make sure that your project is set to PAL. This is how Movie Studio knows to render to the correct format for Europe. In Movie Studio use File | Properties (Alt+Enter) to check and make sure that PAL DV (720×576, 25.000 fps) is selected as the Template.

What are you clicking on? If you are clicking the .vf file this is your problem. That is not the movie. It’s your Movie Studio project file. You need to click on the MPG or AVI file or whatever file you rendered to watch the movie.

Why are you importing a DVD that you already made? Where is the original footage? I’m guessing that it’s the AC3 audio on the DVD you made that’s not getting imported correctly. You might want to look into a tool like Womble for stitching MPEG/VOB file together and trans-coding them with a different audio codec.

That’s your problem. Render you video with the DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream template and then make an audio file using the same name with the Dolby Digital AC3 | Stereo DVD template and everything will be the correct aspect.

Your problem is that you are illegally pirating software. Loose the keygen and pay for the program and your problem is solved. No one here is going to help you steal software with a keygen.

The correct way to import Handycam DVD footage is with File | Import | DVD Camcorder Disc. Is that what you did? The fact that you have VOB files on the timeline tells me you did not. Is it possible to replace this footage? (although this probably means re-editing those parts) I would also suspect the WMV files. I like using either wave or mp3 for audio.

I believe this is the key question to answer and just to elaborate on Mike’s question:
What is the file format of the source media? (avi, mov, mpg?)
Where did it come from? (camcorder, still camera, fraps, YouTube?)
What codec does it use for video and audio? (DV, HDV, DivX, Xvid?)
If it’s something like DivX or Xvid or anything from YouTube, or any MP4 format from a $99 HD camera, that is most probably the problem.
