A quick search here on the COW for “Canon C100 flicker” makes it sound like a defect in the camera that Canon is incapable of fixing.
You might want to check with people in that thread and see if they found a solution.

No, this plug-in is specifically for removing reverb. What you want is noise reduction. Something like SoundSoap 5 or iZotope RX Plug-in Pack would be better for dealing with dialog background noise cleanup.

Yea, the problem might be the codec compression used on the files you are editing. Also, the container they are in. Sometimes Vegas Pro can’t edit files easily because of the way they are written. Vegas Pro is tested with “real” camera footage. Then people come along with all these free game capture programs and who knows how the files were written but they certainly are not consistent or always optimized for editing.

The right graphics card can have a *significant* impact in playback. In the testing that I’ve done in this thread, the difference between GPU on and off was 29.97 fps playback with it on and 0.5 fps with it off. That’s a 60x improvement!!! That was using an ATI Radeon HD 5870.
The question is whether it will speed up your footage and the answer is, I don’t know. GPU support is hit-n-miss with Vegas Pro. I’m guessing that your CPU is having a hard time decoding the highly compressed MPEG4 video you are feeding it and the GPU would be a tremendous help with that, but unfortunately, you need to try and see.
What I could do is test for you. If you send me a DropBox link to some footage, or even with a project with a lot of cuts that doesn’t play back smoothly on your computer, I could test it with and without my GPU on my computer and see of the GPU alone makes a difference. The results might be skewed because I have a 12-Core and you have a 4-Core but I can always test and see.

Vegas Pro supports OpenCL so any card that implements OpenCL is supported. The R9 300 series and 200 series are supported.

Yes, metadata tags were a new features introduced in Vegas Pro 12.0.

A Hex Core instead of a Quad Core would certainly give you a boost as would an AMD R9 290x/390x instead of the useless NVIDIA card.

If you want to use 2 stereo buses instead of 4 mono that’s ok, just make sure that in the render template you map channels 1 & 2 to bus A, and 3 & 4 to bus B.

I don’t know what the Background Generator is (it’s not part of Vegas Pro) but perhaps it can’t be totally turned off. Just from the name it sounds like it’s mean to use used as a a “background” and not on “top” of your video.

First, audio for video should be at 48K not 44.1K so your project properties are wrong.
Second, you need 4 buses, not 2, to get 4 channels of audio in your output.
Finally, it looks like you didn’t map your channels which is why you’re not getting any audio. Follow my tutorial on how to do this correctly:

Sony doesn’t sell 12 anymore and why would you buy 12 when 13 is the latest version?
I’ve seen this problem where 12 couldn’t handle the same footage that 10 and 11 had no problem with. I would download the trial of Vegas Pro 13 and see if it has the same problem. Whatever the problem is, Sony isn’t going to fix it because 12 isn’t supported anymore.
