Export to Sorenson. There are good presets there for YouTube and other online services.

  • No workaround. FCP7 is discontinued so it won’t be fixed.
Don’t know if its better in X.

  • Sorry you are going through this. Hard to trace down the problem, but as stated, you probably have corrupt media someplace.

I had one instance where it ended up being a bad dissolve. Deleted it, then replaced it and everything was fine.

This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it can be a real PIA.

  • Everything looks like its running normally. That’s just how it displays.

You are utilizing all the cores.

Make sure the drive you have for Qmasters scratch is fast or it will take forever to stitch together the encodes all the cores are doing independently…negating all your speed gains.

  • Duplicate your sequence. Do a video mix down of the program. Replace all the video with the mix down.

    Try your export

Been playing with this the last few days. Link to the photo via AMA and use FrameFlex to keyframe your move. It works similarly to the 3D Warp effect. No clunky Avid Pan & Zoom interface, no third party plugin. It just works. Of course, if you need to share sequences with an older system, it won’t be possible.

Haven’t tested in a sequence with a lot of stills, but I think this is where things are headed. I would not be surprised if this becomes the favored workflow. It’s a lot more intuitive to use.

    Thats a weird one.

    Two things to check.

Are you sure you are exporting from the original sequence or are you exporting from one that you consolidated at some point?

Try turning off AAF Edit Protocol. We never have that turned on, and dont have problems.

  • [Angelo Lorenzo] “That’s strange, the v1.7.2 AMA plugin worked fine for me on Media Composer v6 on Windows. Perhaps there are other snags in the process – certain audio configurations or flavors of DNxHD that are being rejected.”

Hmmm. Maybe I am spreading misinformation, and there is some other issue on the system running MC 6 that I tried it on. Its not my system.

It was also Windows. I’ll stop repeating this until I can investigate further.

  • But wait…there’s more.

The downloadable MXF AMA plugin will not help you on versions of Avid below 6.5.
I tried it on v6, with the 1.7.2 AMA plugin and it will not recognize the media.
Avid MC 7 works fine, and I am told 6.5 also does. But older versions do not. The AMA plugin for MXF included with MC 7 is v 1.9…newer than the downloadable version, which is 1.7.2.

DVD Players automatically add the proper pulldown.

Pretty much all “Hollywood” DVDs are 23.98, and will play that way via HDMI. The analog outputs will have pulldown added.

    Its really a non-issue.
