    But wait…there’s more.

    The downloadable MXF AMA plugin will not help you on versions of Avid below 6.5.
    I tried it on v6, with the 1.7.2 AMA plugin and it will not recognize the media.
    Avid MC 7 works fine, and I am told 6.5 also does. But older versions do not. The AMA plugin for MXF included with MC 7 is v 1.9…newer than the downloadable version, which is 1.7.2.

    That’s strange, the v1.7.2 AMA plugin worked fine for me on Media Composer v6 on Windows. Perhaps there are other snags in the process – certain audio configurations or flavors of DNxHD that are being rejected.

    Hmmm. Maybe I am spreading misinformation, and there is some other issue on the system running MC 6 that I tried it on. Its not my system.

    It was also Windows. I’ll stop repeating this until I can investigate further.
