Whether it works or not, I haven’t a clue …but on the Lightworks website, under tech specs/third party it indicates support for quite a few plugins, including some of the most widely used (though not everything you mentioned) -
How was your media ingested into your system?
Are you using the internal drive or an external for your ingested media?

What software are you using that you need a faster card for?
FCP7 makes little use of the graphics card compared to FCPX , premiere or Resolve.
Depending on which one, the recommendation might be different (FCP x is better with AMD cards, the others are better with Nvidia)

No. The graphics card won’t make any difference. These issues are limitations of FCP 7.

Also if a still is CMYK and not RGB, you will have errors

mavericks seems fine so far, but Mac Pro 2014 is not a qualified machine yet.
Avid has no GPU acceleration on the Mac, so don’t expect any boost from the dual FirePro cards.

Mix and match works well in Avid. You should be able to edit just fine, provided your system is qualified or reasonably well powered. You should be able to export to other codecs…but just not “same-as-source” export, if you are mixing frame rates or codecs. Quicktime won’t like multiple codecs in the same file. For those, just duplicate your sequence and do a video mixdown before export. Or transcode your sequence.

Don’t use streamclip for the conversion to 25fps.
Convert the file to ProRes using Streamclip or Compressor. Keep it 23.98 for now.
Open the 23.98 ProRes file in CinemaTools and CONFORM it to 25. Your file is now sped up to 25fps, but retains full picture quality.Now do the 4% speed change in Wave Agent to match.
