It is not approved by Avid yet.
I have been testing it on my own (I cloned my system in case I needed to switch back).
No problems thus far. You are on your own if you choose to try. It’s unsupported by Avid at this time.

It’s my understanding that Avid does not use the GPU for any acceleration on the Mac. Any card qualified by Apple on your machine is fine with Avid. Apple provides all graphics card drivers in the Mac OSX install and software update. Normally, you do not need to download them directly from Nvidia or AMD. Avid on Windows does use some GPU acceleration (which is minimal compared to Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X, which use the GPU extensively), thus there are recommended driver packages to use on the Windows side.

I guess I am just dense. Why does your assistant need MC? Just use Symphony…its the same program in every way (with some extras your assistant won’t use and won’t know are there.

Why would you need both on the same system?
Symphony and MC are the same program. Symphony just has several features enabled (extra panels in the color corrector and universal mastering, if you have DX hardware), and a different splash screen.

Hold Shift-Control on a Mac, Shift-Alt on PC…then the Relink command in the Clip Menu becomes Unlink.

“No. Starting in MC 6, this signifies an AMA clip. Previously, the clip was highlighted in bright yellow. They changed it because it created readability issues.

Look in the Effect Pallete under Timewarp. There is a preset for Reverse.

The tutorial is for Final Cut Pro X. Its a completely different program, with different features and a radically different interface, that replaced Final Cut Pro, which was discontinued after version 7.
You might want to search for tutorials on the Final Cut Pro 3-way color corrector. there are many out there.

Duplicate your sequence. Lift/Delete everything but what you want included in the EDL. Leave everything in place, don’t ripple. If you need help identifying the material, use clip colors
