Jon, thanks for the reply.

Can I ask three more questions?
1. With the example you give using an external hard drive, are you saying unplug and move the drive to the other computer when you want to change machines?
2, If so, is there a way to use shared storage – NAS or SAN – to do the same thing over our internal network?
3. Are there issues of speed using an external hard drive – firewire/USB vs eSATA/SATA/SAS?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, when I convert it to an avi file, everything works fine. Seems too bad that I have to convert it before using it in AE 7.

What would you suggest as the best way to convert? Can you suggest a particular piece of software? And when you say “Try Animation codec”, can you give me more information on that?

Thanks for the reply. I am using RAM preview but it also is out of sync when I use the make movie command and render it out to an avi.

Thanks. Does that only work for the files before they are placed in the timeline? After I erased the .pek files, then relaunched my project, Primiere went through and configured all my audio in the project bins but did not update what I had already placed on the timeline. The audio files continue to flat line.

Is there a solution or am I just stuck doing everything over?

Vince, thanks for the quick response. Can you help me further clarify:

You say “Find your peak files folder (the location is under Preferences), and delete them.”

Can you help me dig down a little deeper? When I go to preferences, what option should I choose?

I could not find a folder called “peak files folder”. Is there some other name? Alternatively, I can search by file extension. What file extension does a peak file use?

We use 3D studio to model computer products for our videos (check out a sample of our work at media.reselleradvocate.com/reselleradvocate/sas512d.wmv). We export them as individual .tga files with alpha and then import them into after effects 7.

The images maintain their alpha.

I think the whole thing works great.
