sony has a micro site
https://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/micro-xdcam/resource.downloads.bbsccms-assets-micro-xdcam-downloads-XDCAMSoftwareDownload.shtml
go to the bottom where the Nle link is and dowload 2.71 version for FCP just be aware you need FCP ver 6.02 and you’re good.

make sure you have downloaded the correct software from sony (it’s free) with all the XDCAM codecs and the use in both AE and Premiere should be OK. Unfortunately you shot interlaced footage. For Keying always try and shoot 1080 30p or deinterlace for a key. To work with interlaced footage in Ae set to lower field and to preserve details and then key. Keylight is a great keyer in Cs3. Also look at Primatte. I’ve had good results with both. Primatte will deinterlace for the key in it’s setup mode.

thanks all for the help. I’ve figured it out on my own using different settings. the audio is Aiff.
Basically you start with an Mpeg 2 format then adjust stream settings, a crucial one is the bitrate set to CBR around 15Mbps, I was using VBR before that’s why I was getting incompatibility. Then set audio to Mpeg 1 layer 2 audio and all’s well. I’m still not sold on this compression scheme as in any streaming codec you will have artifacts but it works pretty well.

Thanks for the response.
I’m working in After effects and tried using the Blu-ray setting as suggested . I haven’t gone the AE/compressor route would like to export from AE if possible. In Ae I keep getting a render error that won’t let the file render. The error says the Audio codec is incompatible and needs to be changed in the output module. The only thing that can be changed in the module for audio is the sample rate. I’ve tried both 44.1 and standard 48k and still the error. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. After using mograph a bit more I found what worked.
Apply on the left most material tag Frontal projection and side as front then on the next material
have the projection be flat with front as well. Works foe me.
Thanks again.

Thanks for all the response so far. The problem still exists in both Ram preview and render.
It is also a problem in another comp that has about 20 layers parentend to a layer moving in Z space with 2 position ease keys about 1 min apart. I haven’t had this problem using previous AE versions.
I’m using CS3 on OSX 10.4.10 ,8core Mac pro,9GB ram. I did find an interesting article on Adobe’s site.
Here’s the Url.

How do you diable the point of interest? The only key frames are y rotation and both are ease frames giving it a smooth S curve. Thanks for the reply BTW
