    Hi Phil,
I put your question to him and his answer was, FCP would not open so he could not save.
    Many thanks,

As stated i use a Mac Pro, i connect the dock to the Mac via USB but the SSD does not show up in the disk utility, i have two SSDs so the fault is not with the drives. If i can”t see it i can format. What SSDs do you use and what docking station have you got?.

Ok , so how do you format your SSDs, do you use a PC or a MAC?. At present i have a Hyperdeck Shuttle and a SSD which are useless.
PS The SSD is a OCZ 240GB Vertex3 recommended by Blackmagic.

    Hi Guys,
Can you tell me how i format my SSD for use in the Shuttle, my SSD is a SATA111 Vortex3.?
The Mac Pro will not do the format, as you know it must be HFS+.

  • I think my problem has been solved, Apple has yet to incorporate SATA111 controllers in the Mac, info of the net.

  • I connect the SATA111 via a USB dock to Mac Pro but it does not show in the disk utility, a SATA11 does, this leads me to think that the Mac is not compatible with SATA111 SSD’S.

Many thanks Jason, i forgot to state that i have a Blackmagic HD Extreme card installed in my Mac Pro,
and it’s the play back of the files on the timeline that is the problem, so would i need to look at the settings in Black Magic?.
