I’m at full rez. I double checked though and on a TV monitor the thirds look fine, just for some reason they’re showing up yucky in Avid. The video in avid (because it’s on full res) has been looking great and I suspected that at first. So, it’s a weird display issue it seems where video looks fine and graphics don’t.

I even tried making a title with some ovals and what not directly in the Title Tool and they looked like crap too in the preview monitor.

Ok, I’ve used Skype along with a program called Vemotion to record calls before. It’s great because you can playback audio as well and set it to record only their side of the conversation or both sides.

Quality-wise it’s pretty darn good. I can give you a sample if you want of one I recorded.

The problem you’re going to run into no matter what, is the mic on the talent’s cell phone and how good it is.

But, let me know and I’ll send you a sample of what this program can do.

I’d go with the 411 series. Do you have a 411 receiver? They really discontinued the older stuff and if you can find it, it costs the same as Lectro price fixes all their gear.

I like Tram Lav mics and also Sanken COS411 Lavs are good too. The Trams are a little better in windy conditions, but the Sankens sometimes are better with clothing rustle.

Check out customsupply.com they usually beat the other guys on price. I buy most all of my stuff from there. Tell Michelle over there that John Hatcher sent ya if you call them. She calls me every month almost. 🙂 Really good people.

You might check out The Mac from Higher Octave. It’s on B&H Photo website. It’s a little pricey but it lets you mount the receiver on top or underneath the cam. That or the Jimmy Box dealy.

    Good luck! 🙂

    Hi Jeremy,

The Sennies are ok. I’m not totally thrilled with them, but in a pinch they do work ok. Sure, I’d take advantage of that other cam and lav up as many people as you can. I have a Sennheiser MKH60 shotgun mic that works better than the ME66 in my opinion, but budgets are always tight. Another think you could try is if you have the money, you could try to get a Lectro mic Cube and receiver (411 series) so you could wirelessly boom. That’ help you out a ton, believe me!

Let me know if you have other questions. Sounds like an interesting project!

Yeah, that’s exactly what it’s designed for. I think I mistakenly described it because it has been awhile since I saw one. I’m going to get one tomorrow and put it through some field tests, see how she works. PSC makes one similar, but I think it only fits their mic and not a tram.

Nope, that’s not it either. I think I found it though. I did some digging today and check this out and let me know if you guys have used this. I believe this is what I was talking about.

Yeah, I love those Sanken rubber pads. They work great. I started to put my Remote Audio Elastic waist band around his chest, then vampire to that, but I’d still have the shirt to contend with. I’ll keep checking into it because, I’ve seen the thing with my own two eyes before, so I know it’s out there. It looks like two oval shields with a place for the mic in between, sort of like a sandwich.

    Thanks though for trying! 🙂

Cool, thanks for the info guys. I knew some guys used it for windscreens, but was afraid of the muffle problem. I always keep it on hand for pesky wardrobe problems anyhow.

    Thanks again!
